Wonderful stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Overlook. Paula and Brian are wonderful hosts and the house had everything we needed during our stay and more. The coffee bar was amazing and we loved the little touches to make us feel at home. I could have sat on the porch looking at the view all day. The area was very quiet and easy to get to. We would definitely stay here again.

One of the best
We have stayed in many cabins and VRBO properties over the years and this was absolutely a favorite! The views were stunning, comfortable beds, responsive owners, and an overall wonderful experience. We hope to return!

Amazing trip at the Overlook
The Overlook was exactly as described! The community it’s located in has nice trails and a pretty waterfall. We absolutely loved the porch area that overlooked the mountains. It was such a peaceful place to spend time in the mornings and evenings. We also really enjoyed the fire pit area. Paula and Brian were wonderful hosts! They were responsive to messages and answered all our questions before arriving. We are very thankful we chose The Overlook and would definitely stay again!

Privacy and Seclusion With A Great View
We spent nearly two weeks at this incredible cabin with a spectacular mountain view. Everything that you need is available in this cabin including K-cups for the Keurig coffee maker! Paula and Brian were very helpful and accommodating in resolving a problem we experienced with the gate to access this gated community. We enjoyed the peace, privacy and solitude and recommend staying here if you want to get away from the noise and commotion of everyday living.

Wonderful week!
We loved our stay at the Overlook! It was very clean, and holding true to many reviews I read before booking, very well-stocked. The coffee station was everyone’s first stop in the morning on the way to the deck to enjoy the view. It was perfect! The one downside that we experienced was that while the deck faces West and the sunsets were beautiful, we were there in early July, which made the heat difficult to endure on the deck as the sun came down. We had to go inside for a while to get relief from the sun in the A/C during that time (until the sun set behind the trees). That’s not a deal-breaker for me, but I feel that Summer renters should just be aware. The only other suggestion I have would be to replace the 4 rockers on the deck with something a little more comfortable, and perhaps add a small table & chairs for those who wish to eat or play a game outside while enjoying the incredible view. That’s the only suggested improvement I have. Otherwise, it was very homey and comfortable. We brought our Greyhound, who also liked it there and was very comfortable. The owners also provided pet bowls, which was very convenient! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

Mountaintop Delight
We had a short stay (5 days) in idyllic surroundings. The view can not be beat, with the peaks of two mountain ranges in view. You feel all alone, except for birds singing, humming birds visiting, and the occasional deer visiting the back yard. The property is exactly as advertised with a very large, modern fridge in the kitchen. That is good as it pays to stock up, as the closest supermarket is about 20 min or so away. The mountain is very accessible from the highway and my only hitch is that it took me a bit to make friends with the keypad that opens the gate for access to the road up the mountain. Do not hesitate to choose this property for your vacation.

Hiking Reunion
Our group, three senior women, have had annual hiking trips for many years. The Outlook was a perfect “base camp” for us this year. The spacious, comfortable and well-equipped cabin was one of the best. VRBO rentals ever!!

Relaxing stay
My family and I had a lovely and relaxing weekend here. The house was well stocked with everything we could need. Good selection of games and puzzles for the kids. We enjoyed having fishing nearby, even though we had no bites. Great communication. Thanks again!

Great place for a weekend getaway
The Overlook was the perfect place for a girls weekend! It was close to Boone and Blowing Rock and had plenty of private trails to explore. The views were amazing, and the whole house was clean. Would highly recommend!

Awesome View!
Our family of 4 and our 2 labs enjoyed our stay. The cabin is very comfortable and the view is awesome! The neighborhood is nice and quiet and the community hiking trials are great. The kids loved the s'mores package but unfortunately the weekend we stayed there was a fire ban so we didn't get a chance to use the outdoor fire pit but we did take it home and use it at our house.

The most AMAZING Hosts!!!!
I could not have dreamt of a better place to stay! The hosts equipped the cabin with everything you could possibly need or want! From the stocked coffee bar, with milk frother, to the fire wood and starters, I began to wonder how they make a profit from all that they supplied! There was charcoal for the grill and extra blankets, toilet paper, dish soap and on and on! They also supplied us with an extremely detailed welcome packet that explained everything with excellent clarity. We never had to wonder how to hook up or use anything because we just needed to flip to the subject-labeled packet for instructions! The view was amazing! The area was packed with trails and in close proximity to town to go to the store or for some in-town fun! I can NOT say enough wonderful things about the beautiful, CLEAN cabin or the amazing hosts that allowed early check in and prompt responses every time I reached out!! This is one we will definitely be returning to!

A Piece Of Heaven
The view from the cabin porch was absolutely beautiful. The cabin itself was perfect in every way. The owners are perfect host. They made the renters feel extra special by the "Welcome" gift and hugh coffee selections. On the funny side; my husband loved the trash can. It along with most things were high tech. Another great trip
This was our second stay at The Overlook and it was just as great as the first one. The house is very clean and had everything we needed. Communication with Paula and Brian was very easy and they made sure we had everything we needed. Boone is a short drive from the house so we spent most of the day there Friday visiting the App State campus and shops. Saturday we went out and visited the nearby waterfall and walking trail. It was a great trip and we look forward to returning.
