This is a quick little drive through the heart of the city. Neat to see where the community is, but not a must-do if you're limited on time.
Know that Hilo gets more rain than any other city in the USA. Expect rain every day and plan to escape to the other side of the island for blue skies and sea. The Farmer’s Market, Richardson Ocean Park, Volcanoes National Park and the Hamakua coast north of Hilo were enjoyable outings close to Hilo.
Don’t be fooled by its outside looks. It’s great on the inside and the staff was superb
We were near the Port - nice beach and park for family gatherings. Saw 2 cruise ships and a cargo ship come into Port.
Enjoy the volcano viewpoints and explore Keaukaha Beach Park, a lovely green space in Hilo. Stroll along the beautiful beaches or discover the area's beautiful waterfalls.
