This property was amazing. My family went for a relaxing laid back vacation and with 3 kids 4 and under, it was our first actual vacation where we were able to kick back and relax with nothing to do but enjoy our personal salt water pool and hot tub and listen to the waves all day long. Samantha was a great host, very attentive and seemed generally excited to host us. She was very responsive anytime I texted her. The house was perfect for us. My kids being little, it was nice to have our own pool as resorts tend to scare them a little when bigger kids splash too much in the pool. We literally were in the pool and hot tub 3-4 times per day. We spent 11 days there and are already looking to book our next vacation here in this same home. I felt at home in paradise.
I know there was a nasty review about the house being dated, dirty, bugs, etc. Complete BS. This is a house, with the privacy you get along with it that you do not get in a hotel. It doesn't have to be perfect, and if the paint job of the house (which was fine by the way) is something that is going to be a priority for enjoying your vacation, then a hotel with all the amenities is the way to go, a private oasis is not for you. It's true, there is no A/C, but we were there in June and never needed it. The home was airy and never was it stuffy or hot. I cooked every day, even made a birthday cake for my baby who turned 1 there, and it was never hot even with the stove and oven on.
My kids are like little heaters, yet they were nice and fresh and slept perfect the entire stay, something they do not do if they are too hot.
My only complaint was the geckos in the house, which was not the fault of the homeowner or the home itself. All the screens were in place so i think the little suckers were just faster than us as we went in and out.
We did sight see a bit, mostly trying out the different beaches on the island, though we mainly stayed home and relaxed. Our favorite beach Hanalei was just a 10 minute ride from Princeville. We found it had the softest sand. The south side of the island is definitely hotter, but truthfully we didn't find it much hotter and the plush scenery was definitely missing. Having gone to other parts of the island helped to confirm that Princeville is the most beautiful area and we will never stay anywhere but there in the future. Though really it's all Hawaii, so you can't go wrong!
Mahalo Samantha and we cannot wait to be back soon!
