I grew up in Quebec with a cabin in the woods. I wanted a place where I could recreate the same experience for my California kid (8 years old), and a space to celebrate my mother turning 80. The chalet was suitable for both of these. I was able to smell the Boreal forest, and bathe in it outside, but also while being in the kitchen/living space. The big great windows allowed us to be surrounded by the trees. My kid was able to catch toads, garter snakes, and observe at least a dozen variety of mushrooms.
Everyone had plenty of space! We found everything we needed - thin blankets, games, extra towels... We loved the pool table.
To change things up, we drove around to Magog, and stopped to visit the Abbeye in St-Benoit-du-Lac. All good diversions. The spa was clean and enjoyable as well.
