Just returned from Scallop Pass. We enjoyed our time in there and being together as a family. It is a nice home; and is well decorated.
Things we appreciated: very beautiful private beach (not crowded), good seating around table inside and on deck that accommodated our large family, nice cold AC even on top floor, elevator access to all floors, very responsive management that came right out to help fix internet issue, & not far from Port St Joe so a run to the store or workout gym was easy.
Having rented beach homes for decades here’s some things that were little concerns: no disposal on kitchen sink (hard to deal with scraping every little scrap when cooking and washing dishes), one fridge with missing shelves (to have a larger capacity home and only one fridge is hard - we bring most of our own meals prepped ahead and storing it all was tough), no stand alone ice maker, only a few cereal/soup bowls, basically the kitchen was lacking if you have a large family and plan on cooking, no curtains on master bedroom sliding door feels awkward at night and room gets bright early, bring all your own beach gear b/c there’s nothing there unless you rent it…. And when you pay that much you don’t want to pay a fortune to rent stuff too, no hose near house to rinse feet (there’s an outdoor shower head but not a foot rinse), no boardwalk to get to beach… you have to walk through hilly sand dune area which was very hard for the older person in our party.
We did enjoy our week and love the gulf coast area.
