Shared rental?
This rental was just a quick, one night stop for our family of five. We chose this for the “peaceful “ description, as we would be staying here after a day of traveling across the country. We arrived to find that it was a cottage and not the whole property, ok. Not a big deal. Not a very clean cottage, bugs everywhere and an unpleasant smell in the kitchen, and a very dirty fridge we just chose not to to use. Again, it’s fine. The pull down, rickety attic stairs that led to the loft where our 3 kids were sleeping was interesting- no railing, a bed was used as a barrier instead. All of this we chuckled at, because you truly get what you pay for with Vrbo sometimes. What we did NOT appreciate however, was as being woken up at 11pm (1am our time) to the sounds of loud partying going on in the gazebo that’s right NEXT to this cottage. We are unsure if the house is another rental or the owners live there, but either way, “peaceful” is not what we got, and the loud party went on long into the night. A shared rental should be disclosed in the listing, as we would absolutely not have chosen this property had we known we would be so close to someone else. Is suggest just renting the properties together. I would highly question whether this building is up to code as its own separate rental. For what we paid, the next night we got a whole house with three bedrooms in a very quiet neighborhood in a town with much more to choose from for around $50 more.
