“The Mactoimin Cottage was perfect for us. We were out early every morning for hikes and back late in the day. A couple days we were back early for coffee on the porch and soaks in the hot tub. Heavenly. The best part perhaps was that we were three minutes from the sunsets on the beach! Stunning. We did not do any cooking, other than coffee. I was a wee bit surprised how close to the road we were, but there were barely any cars that went by. The owners were so kind, even when I called one night...

“Very unique tiny home. The ambience of the boardwalk was quiet and lovely to be by the water. The restaurant choice are limited. Instructions were good. Though they asked us to undo the linen before leaving and for the price we paid, we should not have to do that. The sheets were not good quality. But the rest was excellent and clean. Parking is a little inconvenient, nothing can be done about that... but perhaps a cart? ”

“Wonderful experience for our group of 5 adults. Beautiful views, great deck for morning coffee.And we were greeted by seals floating in the water near the house, in the morning. The tea drinker in the group was grateful for the teapot in the kitchen. Very responsive owner/manager. He answered questions immediately. Property is steps from an 80 acre nature preserve which we took full advantage of. Just a wonderful experience. Highly recommend. !”

“Peaceful setting with spectacular views of the moonrise and sunrise seemingly coming out of the ocean. View from the sauna and hot tub were awesome. And the clear dome is a great space to relax if the wind comes up. Access to the beautiful fine sand beach is only a short walk to through the park next door. At night we fell asleep listening to the sound of the waves on the beach. The perfect spot for a relaxing getaway.”

“My family and I loved our stay. The cottage is cute with a beautiful view of the sea from the deck. I walked to the beach several times each day and enjoyed the amazing scenery. Nearby Chéticamp is quaint and has all you need for a relaxing vacation. The Cape Breton Highlands National Park offers breathtaking views from your car and even more to explore and see on its hiking trails. We would definitely stay here again.”
