Cute cottage in a lovely location set on an offshoot of the Murray River. Neutral decor, period features, comfy beds, huge stove, good shower.
We spent nearly all of our time on the lawned area outside (on our own chairs), watching the ducks & birds and kayakers. It is a quiet section of the river so you don’t really get boats passing by.
The front garden is lovely to wander around - lots of pretty flowers and fruit trees out the front.
A tip for summer - pack the aerogard. The mozzies were out in the day time as well as night.
There were some things that would have made our stay more comfortable - especially handrails on the front and back stairs. My 79 yo mum couldn’t go down the back stairs due to no handrails and I managed to stack it one night on the back stairs when taking the dog out.
As short people we struggled to reach cups, glasses & plates and stood on a chair to reach them. A step stool would be good, or storing the crockery lower down or on cup hooks.
The main bedroom had bedside lamps but they were not wired up and without globes. It would have been good to have functioning bedside lamps in both bedrooms.
We found it a bit hard unlocking some of the doors; labeling the keys would reduce confusion.
All in all a nice spot and bigger groups would likely make more use the verandah with its large bbq and table.
We recommend this for people wanting a break away in a secluded location.
I’d love to come back with a friend some time in the future, it would be really lovely in winter with the open fire.
