“We spent our entire 2 week vacation at Cottage Mary Rose as our home base from which to explore the southwest part of Ireland. It was perfect! Genuine Ireland at its best. The cottage itself is beautiful, cozy, a sanctuary to retreat to after a full day of touring. The manager and caretaker are amazing and so welcoming. “The cottage is as described. Nice touch is that the family history of the last Irish inhabitant is shown on the wall. Living and kitchen are rather dark. Conservatory is really nice and light. Local roads are narrow and winding so max speed of 80 or 100 km/hr cannot be reached. Hence supermarket (Kenmare) is 45-60 min drive depending on traffic. Supply of towels is rather limited: 1 bath towel per person for a 4 night stay. ”

“It was great! After the initial shock of the size (online picture made it appear larger than it was, would have been ideal for 2 people but not so much for 3 adults). Loved the old charm of the renovated stone building and the setting was perfect. A short walk to the beach and a short ride to Dingle. Great hiking nearby and pub just down the street. The host and on-site manager were both responsive and accommodating. Would definitely go back again but would choose one of the larger cottages.”
