Nice stay - frustrating check in
Difficult to check in - booked on Hotels.com & when we arrived they could not find our reservation. I called Hotels.com who made a call & told me everything was good. But, they STILL didn’t have my reservation. I called again & they called the Majestic again. They again told me all was straightened out, but the Majestic STILL had nothing. Then I receive a text that gives me all the room info. Apparently I was assigned to a Third Party condo & the hotel does not handle anything Third Party. Quite frustrating because I had no indication that I was not boking with a hotel. We got in the room, the A/C unit was not working, I called the number on the A/C unit & the guy told me he was not authorized to our unit. At 8:30pm, I texted the same number that sent me the room info & the reply was “Juan with maintenance will be by soon!” At 10:pm Juan did show up & fixed A/C, it took him a little over an hour. Juan was EXCELLENT!! Master shower had a poor odor, my wife cleaned it herself. A shredded pillow was in the master, dryer “ON” switch was broken, 6 light bulbs were burned out (I replaced them), master ceiling fan quite noisy (I fixed it), and a cabinet knob fell off in my hand. All these things are minor and easily fixed…so why weren’t they…before guests arrived!? None of these inconveniences took away from the pleasure I had with my family for a week and we would stay here again. It is a nice place to stay.
