We love Palm Springs so it isn’t easy to be negative coming off a good family vacation, but this place misses the mark and is not accurately represented in Vacasa’s advertising. As for the positives, the location is great and pools in the complex are very nice, and the check in process was fine. However, the unit is very, very dated and full of wear and tear, which is not evident in the photos on Vacasa The outdated AC unit (looks to be well over 25 years old) made an audible whistling sound inside the condo that was disruptive. The furniture and beds are dated and not very comfortable due to age. Personal items from the owners, or prior renters, could be found under sinks, in drawers, in closets, and some of it (old take-out containers!) is seemingly unsanitary, and not what you would expect in a rental home. The sliding glass door had NO LOCK or latch, and relied solely on piece of wood on the floor for security. Perhaps most concerning, the unit wasn’t very clean - we found grime in the kitchen sink, black spots in the tub, powdery substance (hope it wasn’t from the exterminator) on the countertops , etc. I’m sure the owners are nice people and mean well (we reached out via the contact feature on Vacasa and heard nothing), but this place needs a BIG upgrade if they are going to hold it out as PS “Mesquite Chic” while charging a prime rate. . While we will come back to PS, we will not staying here again.
