This host was listed as a 5 star host, but was anything but that. We had rented this property two months in advance, and the day before we were to arrive from out of state, I was texted that they had to move us due to the property "being trashed" by the earlier tenant. They had 4 days to warn us, but did not until the day before. Our group of 5 people plus two dogs was moved into a dirty one bathroom house in a different part of town. We were told it was that or a refund. It was Thanksgiving week, so there was little else we could do on one day's notice. I assumed we would be given the credit since there was over $90 difference per night for the new property, but we were not. He offered us $50 per night or nothing. The property itself was dirty inside, particularly the floor. The doors did not latch, so the bathroom door would pop open when you were in there using it. One bedroom had a double bed in it that made it so tight you could barely walk along either side of the bed. The twin bed is a glorified cot. The yard has tall brown weeds. There is no light at the back door, which is the only entrance. The sound on the TV did not work. The seating in both living and dining areas was for 4 people, though the house claims to host at least 5. The inside staircase is incredibly steep and the steps themselves very narrow. It is an accident waiting to happen. I would strongly discourage VRBO renters from working with Mark Biesack and Powerhouse Properties.
