In all my years of booking with VRBO, I have never given a home a bad review. This house looks beautiful in photos, but there were numerous issues during our stay, none of which were attended to by the owner.
The washer dryer were stacked on top of one another in the laundry room, however they were side by side machines. When we attempted to wash our clothes, the washer slid off the dryer and almost to the floor. Fortunately one of our house guests was a big enough guy to stop it. After that the machines stopped working properly for the rest of our stay and despite contacting management, nothing was done to fix the problem.
There is shoddy work done throughout the home, doors and toilets installed incorrectly. One of the toilets was falling off of the wall, and the barn doors were not hung properly and left gaps into the bathroom. None of the outlets were working in the master bath.
We were really looking forward to the outdoor space during our trip, however the pool was never tended to - the vacuum sat in the middle of the pool the entire time and the filter was never running. A few days into our stay, a GIGANTIC tree was cut down in the backyard and was left laying across the lawn, blocking our view of the lake. It sat there for several days, and when I contacted the owner on the first day, they simply said that the neighbors were cutting some trees. We were unable to enjoy the backyard for half of the trip.
The location of the house was very convenient, however we would never stay here again. The issues above may have been resolved with some help from the owner, however the communication was horrible.
