“The property is in an very nice location...right on a very picturesque river. My group felt it was more of a fish camp than a house. If you plan to stay outside on the deck or the river 90% of the time you will probably love it. If you have to spend a significant amount of time inside you will find it cramped, with worn-out furniture and uncomfortable beds. It is operated by a management company and not the owner. When I messaged questions I received canned/chatbot type of responses. There were...

“Have holidayed in Hatepe for forty years so have rented many properties. Enjoyed the lake side position, the open fire and comfortable furnishings. There was only one extra blanket for the beds for my grandchildren who had come to NZ from 30 + degrees . Thanks owners for letting your property. I nursed with Di North in PN Hospital many years ago when we trained and Dr North was Med Superintendent? ( or have wrong family)??”

“Collect your key from lockbox, put your feet up and relax. Waitahanui river beautiful prestine waters, walking tracks just a stone throw away. Beautiful cottage will definitely be back in the new year. No wifi no problem nature was the screen. Amenities . Will definitely be returning this year”

“Our over all stay at the property was great apart from being cold, the property would need a heatpump down stairs also the Fire place upstairs being in the wall is not enough for the size of the property hopefully something is done for the next winter.”
