Lovely Place to Stay at the Beach
My friend, her dog, and I enjoyed our five-day stay at Beachy Keen very much. The home is small and cozy but more than ample for our December visit, providing a quiet place to read, cook, and do crafts. We enjoyed the decorated Christmas tree in the living room and all the amenities. The house is ideally situated in a residential neighborhood, perfect for walks to see holiday decorations, go to restaurants, and walk at the beach. My friend says the house is the best equipped and friendliest dog-friendly VRBO she’s ever stayed in. Also, the owners are very nice and handled a minor maintenance issue extremely promptly. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks, Wendy and Phil!

Thanksgiving getaway
Everything was perfect at Beachy Keen. The house is adorable and we had everything we needed to enjoy our Thanksgiving holiday. The fenced yard was wonderful for our dog to roam in. Highly recommend.

Everything we needed
Wendy has done a great job of making the cottage pet friendly and she provides everything you need. The cottage is comfortable and there are board games, pet toys and a kitchen that holds all the items you need except the food to prepare a meal. The decorations are tasteful and not overdone. This is a very comfortable and charming place for a visit to Oak Island.

Upon our arrival the house looked great! There was a small issue with cleaning but was resolved early the next day. Wendy was very helpful and communicative, and even left us a gift. The house is perfect for a small family & very dog friendly with a fenced in back yard, clean up station, and plenty of dog items.

Our Happy Spot
My mom, who is 80 years old and has limited mobility, my dog, and I recently spent a wonderfully relaxing week at Beachy Keen on Oak Island. This charming home provided the perfect setting for a peaceful getaway. The house was clean and incredibly accommodating for my mom, offering easy access and a comfortable environment where she could enjoy the beauty of the beach town without any hassle. The serene surroundings and thoughtful amenities made it easy for her to relax and soak in the coastal atmosphere. For me and my dog, the location was ideal. We loved the proximity to the beach and the quiet, friendly neighborhood. The house itself was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Overall, Beachy Keen exceeded our expectations. We are very pleased with our experience and look forward to returning for another delightful stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and accessible beach vacation!

Amazing get away!!
Well stocked with a wonderful welcome package with wine and snacks which was a nice treat after a 6 hour drive. Little bit of a walk to the beach with plenty of restaurant options. We would love to return sometime!

Happy Happy week
Wendy is wonderful. The minute you walk in the cottage, you feel welcomed and at home for the week. Cute and clean little cottage. Convenient to two grocery stores and you can walk to the beach. We did everyday. The wagon is wonderful. Just load it up and off we go for the day! If you bring dogs. The back yard is perfect for relaxing with them. The neighborhood is very safe to walk them.

Perfect beach get away
My sister and our two pups stayed here for a week. It was just as pictured and Wendy had everything we needed. It was a short walk to the beach and Southport was a short drive. Hope to go back soon.

Perfect lodging on Oak Island
We just had an amazing stay at Beachy Keen and can't recommend it more. Everything is provided for; it's clear that a lot of thought went into what a vacationer might need. Everything from pots and pans, 2 different types of coffee makers, beach towels, beach chairs, beach cart are all available for use. For rainy days or if you just need a break from the beach there are board games, puzzles, and books all thoughtfully provided. Let me just end by sharing what my 18-year old teenage son said after the first day at the cottage and Oak Island, "This is what Paradise must be like!" Thank you Wendy for all of your help and for your responsiveness. We can't wait to return.

Wonderful Cottage in Oak Island
Our stay at Beachy Keen was absolutely wonderful! The cottage was so cute and exactly what we envisioned from the listing. The backyard was a great place to sit in the evening and the house provided much needed solace from our busy lives. Even though the weather wasn’t perfect we had the perfect getaway home. You won’t regret staying here!

Beachy Island Vacation
What a wonderful, fur baby friendly cottage. My husband and I enjoyed the convenience of the cottage location, making quick trips to the store, restaurants, and the beach possible. The fenced backyard made the stay safe and easy for our fur babies! Loved everything about our vacation!

Great home, great location!
This home was perfect, they have everything you can ask for in a home. All you need to pack is your clothing. This home was perfect for a fur babies as well. The host are excellent to communicate with, the home is very clean, and the location was perfect.

Our vacation was perfect. We were welcomed to a clean cottage. A nice swag bag with treats for humans and our pup Vader. I’m 52 and took the upstairs Mama took the downstairs - beds were made and there were towels. There were coffee pods in the Keurig. The location is perfect. Publix BBQ House the beach, Southport. Everything was perfect and I appreciate the hospitality and giving Mama, Vader and me a perfect home away from home on OKI.

Cottage near the beach
What a great get away. Wendy has thought of everything. Being able to bring my four legged friends was great but then to have their own towels and a goodie bag! Wow. Great week. Very clean. Photos are very accurate. Back yard all fenced in is great. The cottage is a cozy. I drove 4 hours each way! Well worth the drive! Walk to the beach and you have a wagon to cart everything. Great neighborhood to walk your pups. Very safe. And finally bikes that you can use to ride down to Yacht drive or wherever you want to go. Before I left this morning I had to take one more quick bike ride. We will be back!!! Thank you

Absolutely Perfect
Our stay at Traquil Harbor was perfect. We were greeted by the sweetest welcome gift for us and our pups! The home was spotless, and completely stocked with everything you needed for the beach. Chairs, boogie boards, wagon, umbrella. This was especially nice for us since I have a small car and cant pack too much in it when the dogs travel with us. The kitchen also had everything needed to eat in which is really great since the restaurants close early in town.Beach was very close, just a minute ride in our golf cart. Beds were very comfortable, tons of games and a roku stick so you can log into your streaming services! Thanks again so much for having us. Hoping to be back soon!
