First impression was not so great. The house looks a bit run down. No paved drive so it's dusty and dirty. Outside sitting area overgrown. Used the code to open the door and didn't realize at the time that I didn't hear a bolt click. When we decided to leave for dinner we couldn't lock the door. The code never bolted the door. There was no key to use. That must've been in the lock box which you don't have access to. Called Vacasa and they couldn't get it to work. Had to go to dinner on a wing and a prayer that no one went inside. The whole house, plus our side studio rental, is Vacasa property. We could lock the door from the inside when we got back. Next morning found out we had NO HOT WATER! Called Vacasa again! This time I'm mad and want out and a refund because I'm NOT PAYING TO STAY AT A PLACE THAT I CAN'T LOCK OR SHOWER AT!! Really people?! There's no one on the island of Martha's Vineyard that can respond in person to these issues?? That's pretty poor management. I will never, ever book a Vrbo again since they apparently aren't Vacation Rental By OWNER anymore but a big company with an 800 number leading nowhere and on the other end of the phone, everyone has an accent that doesn't sound like mine. This was a lesson in frustration and I had better get refunded for what was NOT DELIVERED at the rental!! September 16, 2024 is the only night of 3 that were booked that we actually stayed onsite.
My advice to potentail renters: STAY AWAY!
