Much further from NYC than listed & Unexpected Guests
The space itself was as pictured, that's about as accurate as our stay got.
The post says 20 mins from time square but it's 45-1 hr on transit and about the same in an Uber.
Upon check in we were told to lie to neighbors about why we were staying there - strike one. That's putting us in a very uncomfortable situation because we aren't going to lie for a stranger ?
Strike two - visible black mold in the shower. Turning the shower on was like a black mold scented steam, the AC blasted the same.
Strike three - A STRANGER had access to the code (as they obviously never change it) and someone unlocked and opened our door using it when we were in bed. To say the least, it was horrifying and even a little traumatizing. The owner seemed the least bit concerned when we messaged and offered next to no comfort or assurance and due to it being a Saturday night we had zero luck in finding somewhere else to go so we were stuck sitting awake all night until we could leave to catch our flight. Luckily we were leaving the next morning and honestly, luckily we were there when all our valuables were left in the space for some stranger to walk in.
I can't recommend staying literally anywhere else more.
