Ski holidays
Great stay at My Ecolodge. The lodge is very new, clean and comfortable and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The room is normal by Japanese standards (i.e. a tad small but comfortable anyway). Good WiFi connection. There is a ski storage room where you can leave your skis/boards and find them dry and warm the next morning. There is a coin laundry also. Although housekeeping is done just once a week, we didn’t miss it. The breakfast is simple but tasty and includes Japanese and Occidental dishes.
The lodge provides a good pick-up/drop-off service from/to Kutchan Station and the Grand Hirafu Welcome Center.
You can get to the Grand Hirafu ski resort using the shuttle provided by the lodge. It runs every 30 minutes until 16:00. If you enjoy night skiing, you can use the complimentary Grand Hirafu Shuttle (East Village route) until 20:30. The stop (stop 26) is just 5 minutes away from the lodge.
Although there are nearby restaurants, most of them are in Hirafu Village (20 minutes’ walk from the hotel). The recommendations in the welcome guide sent by the lodge upon reservation were very good.
There is a ski renting shop just beside the hotel (Good Sports). The equipment is good and well cared of and considerably cheaper than in other shops in the village.
