What a special place the owners have created! We were a crowd of 11 for four nights and this property was perfect. Even in August, Deer Creek was too cold to do much more than wade up to our knees, but no matter -Nevada City and California's wild rivers provided us with all that we came to enjoy.Surrounded by pine trees, the big house is exactly as pictured. Ample parking and circle driveway. 2-car garage. Main level has a half-bath, large bedroom with king bed & 4-piece en suite, an office with daybed & desk, laundry/utility room with washer/dryer, living room, hearth, dining room overlooking the elevated deck and path to the creek. Convenient kitchen with everything needed to feed our crowd. Lower level is a walkout with two large bedrooms, each with king beds, and central bathroom with shower.Two in our party stayed in the Studio with king bed, full bathroom plus kitchenette. This was very convenient!We exhausted ourselves each day at various places along the Yuba River swimming & rock hunting, so the hot tub became our nightly therapy.Impressions: Serene. Quiet. Picturesque. Both the big house & Studio were spacious and relaxing. We plan on coming back. Owners have created a wonderful retreat that is instantly relaxing.

Better than advertised.

A truly lovely property. Every year our family looks for a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the scenery with our dogs. This was by far the best place we've found. Nevada City is adorable, the house was private and I can't say enough about that creek that flows through the property. We were there everyday and the dogs absolutely loved it. Can't wait to return! The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. (We did bring our own pizza oven, pasta and ice cream maker as we are a family of home chefs) but everything else was plentiful.

Surrounded by beauty!

Our 3-generation family had a relaxing stay surrounded by beauty. As other reviews have stated, the home is nestled among trees with the windows and deck facing the creek. Our two toddlers enjoyed the deck along with the adults, and our dogs loved running freely when we walked to the creek. The kitchen had ample cookware, plates, and glasses. The beds were comfortable. Beautiful scenery, lovely home, close to downtown ... our family had a fantastic stay.

Such a sweet place for my 50th birthday retreat!

I stayed here with my 5 girlfriends for a weekend to celebrate my 50th. After a couple of them left, some of the Dads came up with the kids. The property was spacious with ample bathrooms. Everything was really clean. My friends enjoyed the extra spices that were left behind in the pantry for cooking our meals. We roamed the property near the creek and the kids enjoyed the fair garden. We were finally able to enjoy the jacuzzi right before we left. We can't wait to come back! Just a head's up that the house itself has 4 bedrooms, and the studio is the 5th bedroom. Also, if you don't want to share the property, you need to block out the studio. I didn't see that in the listing, but luckily we blocked out the studio. We would book the studio next time. Emily was so responsive and helpful. We were all wishing we could've stayed longer. Thank you Emily!

Amazing Nevada City!

Just what an amazing property! Hosts were great and everything was exactly as they said it would be. My family loved it and everyone had great space for relaxation and we just LOVED the view from the back porch. We would recommended this property to anyone.

Spectacular!

We recently stayed at this lovely property and had a wonderful time. The house is comfortable, well appointed and the views are beautiful. The location is ideal, so private yet close to downtown NC. The absolute highlight of this special property is the incredible creek that runs behind it. Absolutely stunning! Would highly recommend😊

Beautiful peaceful home

Very nice home. Secluded and quiet. It felt like we were in a tree house with the large windows surrounding the whole house. The property is very large and shady with a beautiful creek just a short walk down a hill on the property. Just a short(less than 5 min) drive to Nevada City. Very comfortable beds and furnishings. Clean and well taken care of. Well equipped with everything we needed and more. We could tell that the owners really care about their home and property. Thank you for sharing it with us. We plan on returning.

Beautiful property

This is one of our all-time favorites! The house is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of private spaces (indoor and outdoor) for each sleeping area. The property itself, though, is what makes this place really special. It is extremely private with multiple walking trails and strategically placed seating areas. Despite the remote feel, it's only a very short, easy drive into town. We enjoyed this place so much that we are already thinking about a return trip. Highly recommended!

A Wonderful Retreat!

This property is less than 5 min away from Nevada City but it entirely remote. However it will be difficult to locate and arrive at the properly without cellphone navigation. There are multiple country roads in the area with a lack of proper identification, and following a map will not be enough help to navigate without getting lost. This caveat should be mentioned in the property description.

Amazing slice of heaven!

We just spent a week here and we didn't want to leave! The property was everything we were looking for to get away, spend time together as a family, and so much more! It is quite a hike down to the creek, but that didn't stop us for spending most of our time there. It's very secluded from neighbors and feels like your very own forest. We let our dog play off leash, chasing a ball to his heart's content, had a campfire, relaxed and explored the property. The view from the cabin is breathtaking. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the baby gates so we could keep our dog corralled. We were able to get Instacart and Doordash delivered which made things even easier for us, and allowed us to spend more time together. We did go in to town once to have lunch at Three Forks, but it was extremely busy and difficult to find parking (and the bees/flies were unbearable to sit outside and eat with our dog). We didn't venture out again after that, which was fine by us since there was so much to do at this property. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful Stay!!! Rejuvenating Atmosphere 10+

My Husband & I loved this property!!! We were impressed by the private driveway, complete privacy, beautiful home & gorgeous property! We were minutes from downtown Nevada City, yet felt miles away. We loved the quality built home, large windows, views, deck, spa, walking trails, gently flowing river, horseshoe pits, gazebo and the several areas to sit and take it all in and enjoy! Every direction you looked was beautiful!!!The home has a large family room, dinning area, well appointed kitchen and very comfortable bedding and bed. If you are looking for a restful retreat as a couple, family or friends you won't be disappointed! The pictures are nice but they don't really do the property justice. For us this home was a 10.Our only regret was having to pull away and leave this peaceful mountain home!

This property was everything we wanted for a quick getaway. Secluded in the middle of the woods, next to the creek, you really feel like nothing else exists outside of this area. The house was very clean & equipped with everything we needed for cooking. Emily was super easy to communicate with and helpful with all of my requests. Easy check in & out. Idyllic Country Retreat

This property was absolutely perfect for three couples and two dogs seeking a cozy, private winter weekend in a beautiful setting. The home is light, bright, and spacious, with expansive views of the surrounding woods and hills from all rooms. The grounds are well-maintained and inviting and offer a perfect balance of indoor/outdoor living. The nearby town and hiking trails are charming and easily accessible by car. As a dog mama, I was thrilled to find that the house comes equipped with creek towels, dog beds, washable slipcovers on the chairs, and conveniently-placed hoses for quick paw cleanups. Emily is a wonderful and gracious host: flexible, generous, responsive, and clearly intentional in creating the very special ambience of this home. I can't wait to stay here again!

Great House Close to Town

The house was perfect and considering it was raining while we were, the wood stove made it very cozy inside. The kitchen was equipped with everything we could possibly need. The creek on the property was great for the dog to swim in and we enjoyed walking at the trail nearby. The beds were super comfy and the linens were nice. Overall a great place to stay!

The best rental I've ever been to!

Wow. This was by far the best VRBO I've ever stayed at, and I've stayed at dozens. It was an incredible setting, private and secluded in nature with a beautiful private creek area. The house itself was perfectly set up and had everything we needed and more. The beds were very comfortable and all the linens and everything was very high quality. The host, Emily, was very helpful and responsive. This is a really exceptional property and I'm already planning my next visit!
