“This property is perfect for a weekend to literally "get away" from it. There is not much close by, so take stuff to cook on the grill. The kitchen is small but manageable with some necessities in there like cookware and dishware and a convection oven that I baked a whole birthday cake in. A great place to hide from reality for a few days if you're into quiet and seclusion. We really liked it.”

“The cottage at River Bird Lodge was excellent. It's very nice, clean, well appointed. It's great for a couple or a small family. The cottage layout has a bedroom and common living area with a full kitchen. The bed was very comfortable, which is not always the case. It sits on a large property with a lot of woods to explore, as well as the river. This time of year the river is pretty low, so you can easily access the riverbed.. Niki was very responsive and easy to work with. I gave only 4 stars...

“The property was amazing! It was just as described and felt like home. We traveled with 4 Adults and 6 kids ranging from 14-4, and there was plenty of room for everyone to not be on top of each other. I highly recommend you book this property!”

“Everything is just as pictured and the use of the kayaks on site even made our stay batter. The hosts were friendly and helpful which is always nice. The river was low due to no rain but we still enjoyed ourselves. The hot days let me get a good nap on the comfy couch.”

“This cabin is the perfect get a way spot and exactly what I was looking for. 1st thing we had to do when we got there, was plug the hottub in. Discovered it needed some water added to it and then it started working. It did take it around 16 hours to come to temp. Overall this is a great place to stay at.”

“If your looking to trail ride Ouachita atv trails this place is literally smack dab in the middle of them. Be sure to haul in whatever you might need because it is a good 45 minute drive on the main atv trail back to the highway toward Hochatown. Once a again really isolated but that is what we loved about it.”

“My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. My wife’s sister came with us to view the changing of the leaves and the beautiful countryside. Our host, Ginger, was always responsive to our communication. The cabin is beautiful and everything we needed was provided. We will definitely stay here again!”

“The cabin was nice as was the area where it's located. It was stocked with everything you could ask for, dishes, towels, flatware, even coffee and we liked it a lot except for 2 things... the Internet was very slow and spotty. It seemed to do okay with the TV and our phones, but once the laptop was connected, all internet service stopped. This was the same for all three days we were there. Also, it might be helpful if one of the Uncle Joe's Creek Retreat signs were placed at the actual entrance...
