Everything about this cottage and property is "just right."
The home is spacious and spotless; appliances are new and in excellent condition, storage is ample. Ceiling fans and portable fans supplement the window AC unit, making for a very pleasant atmosphere if it's hot and humid outdoors.
We stayed for three nights, to explore Lake Michigan, the Grand River and the bike paths. The cottage is within an easy drive to all, but without being cramped into downtown parking. We had an F-150 truck pulling a small boat and a Ford Fusion car with bikes. All fit in the driveway and there is a roomy and secure back yard where we could store the bikes.
The neighborhood is quiet, and a pleasant walk from this cottage to the lakefront or an independently-owned general store that has a little of everything, including alcoholic beverages and food.
For dining, we tried/recommend Pine Street Cafe for breakfast or lunch (about 2 miles from the cottage), Two Tonys for dinner in Spring Lake (top-notch cuisine and service). For drinks/snacks on the water (channel inlet from Lake Michigan) in Grand Haven, Snug Harbor. It's very popular and can get crowded - better for a drink and a quick bite than special dinner.
Beach at Hoffmaster State Park in Muskegon is excellent for swimming and walking; very clean and spacious. Take insect repellent in case there are flies (periodic in the summer).
The owner is gracious and committed to making your stay an excellent "Pure Michigan" experience.
