We traveled with another family, so there were four adults and four kids under the age of 12. The property was just perfect for this size of group. It’s located right on the main road; the bedrooms are located towards the rear of the house so road noise wasn’t much of a problem at night. The house was clean and has been nicely maintained; it looks to have been recently remodeled compared to other properties in this area.
Chris, the owner, was an excellent host and quick to respond. There was a slight inaccuracy in the listing which he corrected immediately and was very gracious about. We’ve rented in the Murphys/Arnold area before and have found those other properties to have some unusual cleanup instructions. Chris’s were simple and straightforward, which was very refreshing.
I would note that we initially had to get familiar with the front door - needs to be pulled tight for the electronic padlock to lock or unlock. Helps to better align the locking bolt with the hole.
We went at end of December hoping there would be snow, but unfortunately, this year that did not happen. However, we found snow up at the bear valley area so the kids enjoyed themselves. Would’ve been a picturesque stay if only there was snow on the grounds on the property. It is further up in elevation than the town of Murphys proper and right before red apple. We liked that it was not in the town and it felt private and secluded.
We enjoyed the property and hope to visit again. Thanks Chris!
