“Absolutely amazing. We stayed at Pondoro in January in the beautiful Tree Suite with the most incredible views of the river. Every member of the staff was so friendly and hospitable. Our daily game drives exceeded all our expectations with the most experienced guides. The vegetation this time of year was so green and gorgeous. From sun up to sun down we were so well fed by the talented team of chefs. It was all such a dream. I hope we have the chance to return again. ”

“We were greeted on arrival by the owner, who was extremely welcoming and hospitable. The room was extremely spacious and well appointed and the breakfast excellent. Dullstroom is evidently the highest town in South Africa at well over 2000 metres above sea level. As such it is somewhat cooler than most of the country and provided a welcome respite. We would have no hesitation in recommending Critchley Hackle and hope to return ourselves next year.”

“The physicality is breath taking! It is close enough to Johannesburg that a quick weekend getaway is doable without driving for untold hours before you reach your destination. This is quiet hideaway, and even though Wi-Fi availability is advertised, there is no cover in the accommodation that we used. Spotty Wi-Fi is available in the reception area. The approach roadway is bad! So no small cars as you need height or off-road ability, large cars are wide and are damaged by encroaching vegetation...
