Heaven on earth! Looking out I loved seeing the ocean to the left while my husband enjoyed the mountains to the right. We were so comfortable and the views so special that we were never in a hurry to leave. The pots of plants inside and out added an extra touch.

Unique property with panoramic views
Grew up in Carmel. 30 yrs worth. I can say that the location and privacy with fantastic views of the Pacific/ Carmel and Mission Beach are outstanding as well as views out Carmel Valley. Charming home that has a wonderful kitchen along with nice bath and comfortable bedrooms. Having stayed in just about every location and type of homes on the Monterey Peninsula, I can say that this property is special. The drive up the hill to the top takes about 5-6 minutes. Not bad. From the bottom of the hill your are 5 minutes to groceries and dining. The owner is responsive and polite. A real pleasure ! Bring your binoculars...

Lovely!
Lou’s house just never disappoints! It’s our second stay and we loved it! The kids love it. The location is fantastic and warmer than in Carmel. House is clean and wonderful to star gaze as there’s no light pollution. The fans worked well to cool the sleeping rooms down. It makes for an unforgettable get away!

Felt like I was on Cloud 9. This is definitely the place to go to relax and enjoy the true beauty of God’s creation. And at the same time, shops and great restaurants were a mere 10 minutes away. This home is well equipped with lots of nice upgrades. My favorite being the heated bathroom floors. The owner is quite responsive and a really nice guy.

Dreamy Carmel Escape
Quaint with amazing views. We enjoyed the gourmet kitchen and the patios around most of the property. The rosemary was blooming and a friendly lizard came out daily to enjoy coffee with us. Super bonus was that we were above the fog most of the time and enjoyed watching it roll in and out. The road way up is long and winding so glad they warned us ahead of time.....it was worth it:)

Our Happy Place...
This is my second visit to this home, and it has now “officially" become my happy place- far from the fast pace of Chicago. I was thrilled for my husband to experience this home with amazing views,where you can truly experience genuine peace and quiet! Lou is the most gracious and accommodating host. Very responsive and ensured that we had a wonderful experience. The 1.8 mile drive up to the property is well worth it as you are greeted with unforgettable views of the bay to the west (sunset) and tree covered mountains to the east (sunrise). Easy access to grocery store and downtown Carmel/Beach. We made all our meals on site, grilling /using the well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed hiking throughout the day- Point Lobos State Park is literally at the end of the lane and heading south, Big Sur a beautiful winding drive. Lazy afternoons and evenings were spent outside on the patio enjoying the views and wildlife. The home is comfortably furnished and stocked with plenty of wood for the fireplace. My husband agrees that the bathroom with heated floors and toilet seat is a luxury we must figure out how to install in our home 😊. We highly recommend this home and we are already planning out dates for our next trip to this hidden gem!

Stunning and Regenerative
This house is a dream come true. My family and I could not have enjoyed our stay more. The view is every bit as spectacular as you would expect and more so. We barely left the house the entire time we were there, and will definitely return again. Lou was fantastic, and we had everything we would need.

This property has the most stunning views of the peninsula! House was very clean, cozy and well stocked. Would definitely stay again. A bit of a drive uphill 1.8 miles but views totally worth it.

Stunning views - didn't want to leave!
What an absolutely stunning adobe. We loved the fire, the chefs kitchen and the whole lay out. The sweeping mountain and ocean views are so spectacular that we didn't want to leave. We also loved drinking coffee on the bench in the mornings listening to the birds sing. Already planning when it's possible to return.

Seaside Hilltop Heaven
This was our second stay at the Time Honored Adobe, our first in 5 years, and it was exactly as we hoped it would be. The views from this unique property can only be described as sublime. The home is warm and so comfortable. The kitchen is perfect for those who enjoy cooking and relaxing while dining in.We spent hours hiking Pt Lobos Reserve or the beach and then retreated to the adobe for afternoons on the patio to take in the expansive views. We got a smattering of typical February weather, each day creating new ways to enjoy the natural surroundings. We’re so grateful this gem of a place is still available and hope to return again.

Unbelievable view!
We had a wonderful stay at this house. The furnishings are simple but comfortable. The best part is the 180 degree views from the house overlooking Carmel. Our other favorite part was the fireplace in the living room. It is a 10 minute drive to a Safeway and restaurants. Would def stay here again!

Perfectly perched relaxing stay
Carmel and the Monterey Bay area is a world-class destination and this property was perched perfectly to look down on the world-class beauty of it all! So much to do: great hiking everywhere to include Big Sur and its magic, beach walking, whale watching, wonderful restaurants and walking the beautiful town of Carmel. So much to NOT do and just stay on property and relax. We enjoyed a couple days going nowhere and appreciating the incredible views. The house is wonderful and comfortable with a great fireplace and chef-centric kitchen outfitted with everything needed to prepare gourmet meals. Everything was perfect and we can't wait to return!

Lovely Stay at a Lovely Home
This is our second stay at the Adobe Home high up on the hill above Point Lobos and Carmel-by-the-Sea and we can't wait to come back. The beautiful old post home is secluded and surrounded by parkland; all the peace and quiet you could ask for. As other reviewers have mentioned, the home has world-class views of Carmel Bay, Carmel Beach, Pebble Beach and beyond. Even when the fog covers the views, the cozy home is a perfect place to build a fire, cook a meal in the great kitchen, relax, and celebrate with friends and family (and dogs!)

Very special adobe
This property is an old restored adobe with all the extra's as written up including an amazing kitchen that I chef would love. The views are spectacular since the property is a 2 mile drive up. Lou is truly a SUPER HOST and is always available if needed and does all he can to make the stay a truly amazing vacation. We love this special place and this is our 3rd year returning.

Perfect "home base" for exploring the Central Coast
My wife, two daughters (16,11), dog Cooper and I had a terrific time here for 8 days/nights. The photos are accurate as is the description. We packed in visits to Big Sur, Point Lobos, Monterrey Bay Aquarium, E-bike rides of Carmel/17 Mile drive, hikes, and terrific restaurant lunches (Basil and Hula's Island Grill) while still giving us two full days just lounge around the home with the beautiful views. Lou was also a great host with recommendations for lunch and generally making sure the trip went smoothly. Highly recommend. Mike (Bend, OR)

Paradise on Point Lobos Ridge
My husband Ralph and I had the most wonderful week staying at Lou and Kristen’s adobe home on Point Lobos Ridge in Carmel. We could not have asked for a more peaceful, relaxing, and mesmerizing vacation. The views are beyond amazing. The moment we began our drive up the winding road to the adobe, we knew we were about to arrive at a little slice of heaven. The home overlooks Carmel, Monterrey, and beyond to the West. The remaining views were rolling hillsides covered with oaks, cypress, and pines. It truly was a sight to behold. We spent almost everyday at the adobe, as we just could not get enough of the fresh air, peaceful surroundings, and the views from all directions. We only went out to dinner one night with our son and daughter-in-law. The rest of the time we cooked at the house in the well appointed kitchen or on the barbecue grill. Lou was a delight to interact with and hear about he and his family’s life they created, building their dream home and their many explorations living in such a beautiful spot on the ridge. We slept like babies on the comfy mattress in the master. We feel refreshed and replenished from the hours of relaxing on the back porch, curled up on the Adirondack chairs. We have already reserved dates to return for another week next year. Best trip ever
We traveled here for vacation from Kentucky and had the absolute best trip to California. This house is just amazing and the views cannot be beat! The windows all throughout the house were so nice to be able to still enjoy the outdoors while we were cooking, etc. The kitchen was so nice and my husband is already ordering the same espresso machine:). We are all so sad to leave, but hope to come back to this magical place. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!!

Like a beautiful painting.
The property took our breath way when we approached it. Amazing setting with gorgeous views. The view is literally above the clouds. Love the house. Great fires on chilly evenings. Gourmet kitchen and comfortable beds. Lou the owner could not have been nicer. Only thing missing was an umbrella. Found the sun can. Be quite intense . Would definitely come back for another stay.
