DISHONEST, DIRTY, DISAPPOINTING
The property did not live up to its advertisement and was not as described. We were highly disappointed when we moved in.
All the food went off overnight because their unfit-for-purpose fridge was at 18C. It was a health and safety risk and a potentially life-threatening situation if we ate from it.
The kitchen had ants, the beds were unmade, and the oven wouldn't start. When I asked for bed linen, Ailsa, the owner, refused, saying she was busy entertaining guests at her house, so we couldn't cook our lunch because she could not start the oven and was occupied with her friends.
The other house we paid for offered my guests a rundown, dirty apartment.
The filthy pool was full of insects and lizards. The loungers were old and ripped, and the pool umbrellas corroded.
When we talked to Ailsa, we felt let down. She initially asked us to leave, displaying a lack of professional responsibility. It seemed like she cared more about our money than addressing property issues. The next day, she offered a £4000 refund but only gave us £3,382.00 and blamed Vrbo for taking a huge commission.
We spent over £5000 for three nights and had a terrible experience. This forced us to find alternative accommodation, causing significant financial loss and the inconvenience of finding a new place at short notice.
It's a shame that the property doesn't live up to its 'rustic' description. We feel misled and expect a full refund. We have photographic evidence to support our claims if needed.
