Disappointed
Although not messy, the house was dirty. There was chipping paint and mildew in the bathroom, cobwebs in the corners of the rooms, and an actual smashed dead fly on the wall. The mold/mildew smell was overwhelming.

I do not recommend this property!!
I had an issue with the property for our family’s scheduled visit. Property was clean, but smelled of cigarettes on the main level. I followed the recommended protocol to address the issue by contacting the owner, who didn’t initially respond, and then I reached out to the provided contact for the property manager who said they had never been to the property once we were able to reach them. I indicated that the main level of the property smelled of cigarettes. The owner disagreed, did offer to clean, but the issue was not cleanliness it was the odor of the home. This is advertised as a non-smoking property. Owner indicated the property manager who is also housekeeping did not note any issues at the time of cleaning. Not sure how that is possible if the property manager indicated that they have never been to the property in the first place. Issue went unresolved. We attempted to call Vrbo, sat on hold for 40 min while we tried to find new accommodations only to be disconnected. We did not stay at the property given the cigarette smell. We called again after our trip and were on the phone for over an hour and a half. No response still from the owner after Vrbo initiated contact via email. The owner never picked up the phone to resolve the issue, only messaged through the app. Vrbo does not provide support or attempt to resolve issues on behalf of their customers . Very disappointing customer service by all and the property is not worth staying at even for a short period of time.

DO NOT STAY HERE
We arrived and the house was 88 degrees inside with one small fan on in the living room. I contacted the host and she told me that her "housekeeper shut it off cuz the previous guest they were 3 old ladies and they had the heat on 87 the whole week they stayed" and "it may take a little while to turn it back on". It was 90 degrees outside, that explanation makes no sense as, the air should has been turned on, instead of off by her housekeeper, and ready for renters when we arrived. I had a family of 6 staying there, that consisted of 4 children, this was a very miserable night of sleeping. The description on VRBO website states the house has air conditioning. The following morning the thermostat read 86 degrees. Now I tried to open windows as it was cooler outside than in the house. Some windows would not open and the others had a second pane of glass instead of a screen, so I could not air out the house, nor did we have proper exits in case of an emergency. That was when I attempted to go out to the back yard and look at the air conditioning unit to see if it was turning on, but the back door was not operational and unable to be opened AT ALL. Which the host was aware of and confirmed that day that it doesn't open. Again, a safety violation. So now we are sitting in an 86 degree, stuffy oven of a house, that we only have one exit out of. UNBELIEVABLE! I contacted the host again and made her aware of all of my concerns , including the cleanliness of the home, dead bugs on the table, spider webs and underwear hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I requested a refund for the second night, as there was no way I was going to allow my family to stay there. The host agreed to this refund initially, but changed her mind, only after I had left, she had fixed the air conditioner and I contacted VRBO for a refund. Although, I do appreciate the hosts response and that she apparently was able to get the air conditioner fixed, however, I was not going to keep my children there and the host agreed to a refund. I am disappointed in the condition of the house and the lack of responsiveness or integrity of the owner. I am also disappointed in VRBO to allow this kind of rental to continue to rent to others. I am concerned about the safety of this home. DO NOT STAY HERE, IT IS NOT SAFE IN THE CURRENT CONDITION!

Not What We Hoped For
When we arrived, the bedrooms were clean and beds made, but the rugs had not been vacuumed, there was a used mask on the ground level decor, used bars of soap in the shower, and old food with brownish/red, dried-up liquid goo in the fridge. The counters were cluttered. Our expectations from previous rentals were much different than this. We were not comfortable and elected to not stay at the property due to these issues. The owner and emergency number were originally not accessible. So, we booked elsewhere. We asked our host for the cleaning and lodging fee to be returned. We did not ask for the nightly fee to be returned. She refused and accused us of "planting" the dirty mask. Not a great experience for us.

Cute and Quiet
Wonderful girls weekend! The neighborhood is so quiet, the house was very cute, everything was provided. They were still in the process of fixing a few things but it didn’t hinder our time there. Surround sound in the living room made watching the Packer Game feel like we were at Lambeau. Very cute, well decorated home.

Good Place to Celebrate New Year
Love the house. Never experienced a New Years Celebration quite like the city of Milwaukee. Must be bullets are more affordable than fireworks. The neighborhood we were in was fairly quiet though.
