Our family (2 adults, 2 kids, and a dog) enjoyed our 6 nights at this cabin. We only gave it 4 stars due to similar things mentioned in other reviews. The side door leading to the deck was a challenge to open/close/keep closed, which resulted in our dog letting herself out a few times. The deck, dock, and stairs we could live with but agree they could use some attention. This cabin has a lot of nice touches and we quickly felt at home. The deck is a great spot to watch the sunrise. The public water access is nearby. We were able to easily launch and dock our 17' fishing boat. It's a quiet lake filled with a lot of smaller fish, which was fun for catch and release. We did get a few larger fish, which added to the excitement. Nisswa is only about 15 minutes away and a fun spot for mini golf, a bite to eat, shopping, and ice cream. We'd definitely stay here again.

The Inside of the home was nice, plenty of dishes etc. The bed in the master bedroom was a sleep number and everything was clean on arrival. The only issue on the inside was the rust in the well water, which caused very little kitchen sink water pressure, but the bathroom showers were like getting acupuncture. The outside of the cabin (deck, siding, dock, extra buildings) could use some upkeep and maintenance. The deck is in much need of repair (screws popping, rotting wood, holes). The exterior siding had holes in it that allow other bugs and rodents (bats) find homes. The outbuilding had standing water (mosquito breading ground). Overall, our stay was fun and relaxing on this very big property. The neighbors are far away and never really saw anyone.

Cabin is nice but needs more TLC. Cons: Dilapidated buildings as you drive in...Our biggest issue was the iron in the water. Bring a lot of drinking water to drink, cook with and for your dog.A rust out filter would be a great addition. All 3 beds are uncomfortable...need replacing. The stairs are very noisy and need a handrail! Some simple cosmetic fixes in the Loft would make it a lot more appealing. As other reviewers said, the dock is in very poor condition as is the decking. If you are a bigger person, be careful walking on the dock.Pros: huge yard with a lot of privacy and wonderful for dogs and kids to play, a basketball hoop, lovely sandy beach for kids, fire pit, comfortable furniture other than beds, nice towels, well stocked kitchen supplies, fun game table, nice appliances, newer carpet and flooring, large kitchen, laundry facilities, 2 bathrooms, good layout. It rained every day during our stay, so my husband and I left early as we could only play so many games. The rest of our adult family stayed and enjoyed time together. Overall, it is a great place and many of us are more particular than others.

Peaceful, Well-Stocked Kitchen Family Gem

We had a beautiful stay at this modern yet rustic home. Fully stocked kitchen, lots of space for family to spread out both indoors and out and great space for our lab to run with natural boundaries. We loved the large yard, beach area, seeing all the little fish, learning how to Kayak and the fire pit area to make smores! Some improvements could be made with a new dock and deck that have been well loved by the changing seasons and a fresh set of frying pans could enhance the cook's finished products. The open staircase might make it not the best fit if you have very young children. There is a slight smell to the water when showering which I believe is due to the hardness of the water but didn't bother us. The property manager is very responsive and the owner cares about the visitor's experience. You won't go wrong choosing this space to take a break from the fast pace of life with your family. We would certainly book again!

Cabin on Silver Lake

Our stay was nice. The cabin was clean and comfortable but several things are in need of repair. The door to the deck was taped to stay unlocked and the handle broken, the doors to the master closet were off, the shades were broken in the living room. The biggest issue was the door on the patio being unlocked.

We enjoyed the lake behind the house. We have a son with arm crutches so the stairs were inconvenient for him. It was a nice place for a small family. Nice kayaks and one for everyone to go out together.

Great little getaway!

Very nice area tucked back with a great deal of privacy and a large yard and deck. The deck and the dock both really need some repairs and the one door to the deck had a broken knob. Overall it was a great stay and we would stay here again.

Great Lake Lot

Really nice lot down to the lake. Enjoyed our stay. Would only recommend adding a railing at the interior stair and replacing some of the deck boards that are rotting. Overall really nice place to stay.

Very peaceful

This was a very peaceful and quiet vacation we had a couple of dear come to visit us we seen eagles and wild turkeys the cabin was very nice. The steps going upstairs was a bit sketchy they could use some type of hand rails and the boards on the deck should be replaced the kayaks were very nice and the view of the lake was wonderful

Great location and communication

Staying on the quiet lake was great! We enjoyed the yard and all the chairs to choose from. The property hostess was very responsive and went above and beyond to ensure we had all the things we needed!

Spring break

The property is nice size for a large family or getaway with friends. The cleanliness of the property was flithy dirty. Every light fixture had cobwebs, the oven and stove had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. All the cooking pans were rusted and old. In the utensil drawers, and all the cabinets, also on the counter behind the microwave and under the microwave there was mouse dropping. Extremely unsafe and clearly unsanitary for cooking food. Was forced to store all food in the refrigerator due to mice infestation. The stairway had no railing for any age to have something to grab onto. Dead bugs on the carpet and in window seals on the lower and upper levels. No outlet covers on the outlets. There were holes in the ceiling that were filled with spray foam, whoever did this repair did a horrible cosmetic job. Went to use the bathroom that had a spa tub and was unable to use due to the rust stains on on all the jets. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. The dryer was left full of linens so was unavailable to use. All windows had a film and full of dead bugs looks like they have not been cleaned all winter long. I would recommend this property to be evaluated by VRBO before being on the list to rent to the public. We contacted the owner and we didn't even get a refund. His response was " This was his first time renting in the winter and he was unaware of any of these problems."

Peaceful Lake House

My family really enjoyed staying at the property, it was just the right size to get everyone together. It was winter when we visited, but the lake had just frozen over and it made for some beautiful sunrise photos! Would love to come back during the summer!

The property was exactly as listed and also exactly what we needed. Such a beautiful cabin and property with very nice amenities close by. The host was extremely responsive and very pleasant to deal with. The view of the sunrise over the water was beautiful. We will definitely consider staying there again!

Nice, quiet getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed this quaint cabin. Very private, nice sandy beach and beautiful small clear lake. We enjoyed using the kayaks and just floating in the lake. Lots of wildlife with an eagle perching next door, loved listening to the loons and even a visit from a doe. We would definitely go back!

Relaxing getaway

We absolutely loved our long weekend at this property. We went fishing off the dock, kayaked around the serene lake, grilled steaks while the kids played soccer and enjoyed the beautiful sounds of wildlife at night. We would love to go back soon!
