My review is for "Spacious 5-Bedroom Retreat with Pool Access” not "The Dream Home | 5 bedroom | Meridian ID HOT TUB” — it is managed by the same company, Premium Rentals.
On 7/31/24 the host told me “The Dream Home" was no longer available for our stay from 8/4-8/9, which had been paid in full ($3,856.23). Premium Rentals provided an alternative house, “Spacious 5-Bedroom" and transferred our booking. I called them and asked for compensation due to the inconvenience and loss of amenities. On 8/1, they told me they would issue a refund and I received $444.00 back. Premium Rentals then canceled this original booking. They said they couldn’t provide a new VRBO listing and said we didn’t have to pay anything extra, they’d just change the house we were staying at.
Premium Rentals told me the transfer to another house was an upgrade, when in fact we were downgraded.
Amenities lost:
- 1 full bedroom + bed (someone had to sleep on a couch and air mattress because of this)
- 1 full bath (“Spacious 5-Bedroom has 2.5 baths, not 3)
- Mother-in-law suite on the main level
- hot tub
- large backyard with trampoline, and chickens (how fun would that have been?!)
- play loft area for kids (our family had 4 young kids + an infant and we were greatly looking forward to a play space for them)
- nice balcony off the main bedroom upstairs
- closer parks and pool access
I can’t believe that $444 equates to all those lost amenities… very disappointed :(
