This is a beautiful heritage manor in Midtown, a 8 minute drive to Beale Street. As soon as you walk in the front door you are impressed with it's splendour. Four bedrooms on the 2nd floor and the 3rd floor is the "media room" with 2 couches which can convert to beds but the mattresses are very old and compressed. Big kitchen with lots of pots, Kurig, stainless stove (convection and regular oven), microwave & fridge with ice maker (good size too). The house has a stately feeling with his tall ceilings.
It has it's quirks but that is to be expected with the age of the home. Be warned that doors don't stay closed easily but you can make it work with a bit of effort. Our group were musicians and fans of the blues, sharing the place, so privacy was a necessity.
Washing machine & dryer meant we could travel light, with just carry-on. Loved that there were already spices in the cupboards and they had lots of coffee for us, including sugar. Grocery store (Kroger) was less then 2 miles away.
A very pleasant experience even with the extreme cold and snow Memphis had this January. If you aren't expecting 5 star hotel status, like to have a place to cook and hang out, enjoy old architecture and beautiful neighbourhoods, this is the place to stay.
