Lovely Stay!
Absolutely wonderful, clean and comfortable. Such a darling little cottage on a beautiful piece of property next to Bear Creek Smokehouse. No detail left undone to make this one of the best properties we have visited. Enjoyed our two night stay very much.

Fabulous total eclipse of the sun week
.Despite the cloudy and rainy last two days, the weather was perfect for our stay. The owners couldn’t have been more gracious and accommodating, bringing us a new Keurig coffee maker within an hour of mentioning the fact that we didn’t have coffee for breakfast. They also sent a maintenance person to tighten the toilet seats while we were gone! Couldn’t have been a better experience! Would have liked to use the porch a little more, but it was the beginning of the summer and they still had not pressure washed the back porch area, where there was a little mold and mildew present. Also, This is just the area for ants, and there were many around the back porch. Perhaps they will spray them and clean the furniture and decking off now the summer has arrived. I would definitely definitely stay here again.

My daughter and son-in-law live in the area and we needed some extra space for out-of-town family. This location was perfect. The property was beautiful, and it was just what we needed for a long weekend! Thanks to the Shoults family for a comfortable retreat!

Enjoyed the views and the cottage. Very comfy and cute for two couples visiting Marshall and Jefferson. The smoke house next door is a must do. Bring your own shampoo and bath soap. Otherwise this place has it all and you will be happy you picked it.

Beautiful Setting
My family stayed here for two nights for two nights during the Thanksgiving weekend for a family event. The house was well appointed and had everything we needed. I would definitely come back another time. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious and the kitchen had everything you needed to cook your own meals if you were inclined although with Bear Creek next door there is no need at all to cook for yourself. The house is beautiful and the setting is so peaceful. The owner was readily available and extremely accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend staying here.

Book it! You won’t regret it!
This was our 2nd time getting the opportunity to stay at this BEAUTIFUL cottage, and it never disappoints! Krysta’s gorgeous home is absolutely stunning!!! Every inch is beautifully decorated with all the perfect touches! And being next door to Bear Creek Smokehouse is such an added bonus!!! They have the best shopping and the best barbecue ever! During our stay this time, Bear Creek was hosting “Craftsmen at the Creek” which we were fortunate enough to get to attend! It was an amazing event with over 80 vendors present for all the small business shopping you could ever hope for(and the best barbecue too)! They are always hosting amazing events for the community and we enjoyed this one so very much! The cottage has the most comfortable beds, linens, and pillows! And it is just a short 9miles from our kiddos at ETBU and all the downtown shops in Marshall too!!! If you get the chance to book this beautiful place, do it! You won’t regret it! It’s the perfect, relaxing get away on such a beautiful property! The absolute best of the best!!!

Don't let the "cottage" moniker confuse you -- it's a beautiful, tasteful, well-appointed three bedroom 1-1/2 bath home. Beautiful brushed-brass finishes, even on the kitchen appliances, and showroom-quality design. The setting is bucolic, with views of green pastures, lake vistas, and big oak tress for shade. It made for a wonderful "home away from home when visiting home-home", Nesbitt Texas! Will definitely be back. Kudos to the dear Bear Creek family for such a terrific property in the piney woods. You've upped the game.

Our country stay
This place was amazing. Everything we needed was there. The BBQ next door is also owned by the home owner and the food there was delicious. Owners stay behind home but not a bother at all being that we were on acres of land. I wish we could have seen the cows again like we did a time before but for som reason they were not out. If you are having doubts about booking don’t the stay was wonderful and peaceful at the same time. Will book again 😊

The Perfect Place
It was an easy and delightful place to stay. We were thrilled to be so close to our son and daughter in law as we waited for the birth of our 6th grandchild. I would highly recommend staying ….perfect for a calm get away. Krysta was so responsive to anything we needed and went above and beyond.

Amazing property
We had a wonderful stay at this amazing property. It was very cozy and comfortable. It had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the back porch, listening to the birds and watching the cows, horse, and longhorn. The Bear Creek Smokehouse and Store just a short distance up the road was a real treat as well. I highly recommend this property and look forward to staying there again.

Great location!
We were two families visiting our kiddos at ETBU. The home is in a great location, close to ETBU, but far enough out to enjoy the beauty of East Texas! While we did have a few bumps during our stay, our host was very responsive and quick to resolve any concerns. Home is beautifully appointed with new appliances and modern flare furniture and decorations. Definitely will stay again!

More than just a cozy cottage!!
We loved renting this adorable little house, while visiting friends in Marshall Texas. The cottage is amazing and super relaxing!! Everything you need is already there. All the comforts of home… sheets, towels, pots, pans, and dishes they thought of everything! The decor is modern farmhouse… which I love. The house has been completely renovated and updated. It has an open floor plan that gives off a light and bright feeling that smacks you in the face as soon as you open the door. We enjoyed visiting the Bearcreek Smokehouse for lunch… which is only a short walk away from the cottage. The kids feed longhorns, donkeys, and miniature horses! While I enjoyed the cutest little store positioned at the front of the smokehouse. It’s definitely a lot more than just a smokehouse! You can shop, eat, and feed all kinds of farm animals right out front. I was pleasantly surprised at how much there was to do there! Plan on spending a few hours there for sure! I had one thought after our weekend getaway…. watch out Chip and Joanna Gains! Needless to say, we will definitely be coming back!

Bear Creek Smokehouse/General Store
Absolutely loved the house and the views. Beautiful horses,entertaining livestock and more! The Bear Creek Smokehouse & General Store are a must see. The house is so close. Krysta and family are great hosts!
