Wonderful weekend getaway!
The property was exactly as was described: beautiful location, comfortable. Communication with the owners was very fast & super helpful. The owners take great pride in their home & have gone above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The home was very clean & well taken care of. We really appreciated the small touches that were supplied by the owners like ample paper products, trash bags, s’more fixings & even shampoo & soap in the event you forgot to bring some with you!😀

Everything we were looking for in a rental. Beautiful home, and location. The host provided more than enough fun actives if you didn’t want to go out for the day! Host was super friendly and easy to reach. Will definitely come back!

Back of the Dragon
Rode the Back of the Dragon, and paddled at Hungry Mother. Had a great time visiting Marion and Tazewell. The property was lovely and quiet. Very enjoyable. Our host went above and beyond when we had a bit of car trouble too.

This house and property were great! It was in a good location, was easy to find, and was very peaceful and quiet. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We are all over 70, one is 83, so we were not looking to do much other than just be together and relax. We just wanted to get out of town for a couple of nights. Would recommend it to others. M.B.

Fabulous family time!
We spent each morning sipping coffee in the Adirondack chairs by the river. One day we set up our easels along the river and painted. The fire pit was another favorite of ours! We had a wonderful time!

Beautiful River View!
The river and amenities were amazing. Firewood and supplies for s'mores, pingpong in the barn, pool table in the basement. An absolutely beautiful property. Lots of different areas to sit outside, both covered and uncovered. Very comfortable outdoor furniture. The host was amazing - helped us with some questions we had about the area. A great place to stay!

Paradise!
Such a tranquil setting. Doing the VA Creeper trail by bike was a bucket list item. Invited my hubby and another couple friend. Great little oasis in the mountains. Probably one of the top three VRBOs I ever stayed in. Super clean! Hot tub was immaculate! Babbling brook off the house, plenty of seating. Pool table, ping pong. Truthfully except for doing the bike ride we never left. Great beds, small kitchen but a grill on the back deck. No dishwasher. Plenty of paper products which is super nice. Also stuff like trash bags and paper towels. Sharon really goes out of her way. Highly recommend! We had a blast!

Beautiful
Everything about our stay was great. The house sits beautifully right on the river overlooking a pasture with cows across the river. The house was the most fully equipped of any house we’ve stayed in. Everything you need was there and the host even had supplies to make s’mores over the fire. They even provided the starter and wood for the fire. The house was clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi was good but the cell service was spotty but that was fine with us so we could disconnect. I would gladly stay here again.

Wonderful Anniversary Trip
The River House is cozy & clean. The furniture is lovely & comfortable. The host has added a lot of personal touches in both decor & functionality. It was such a pleasant place, we only left the property to dine in town once. One of the best vrbo sites we've stayed at. We highly recommend a visit here.

The River House exceeded our expectations!
Our stay at the River House was more than we could have asked for. It was quiet, cozy, clean, and had all the amenities needed to provide respite during the Thanksgiving holiday. Beautiful Birthday getaway
My husband and I stayed at this home with another couple for my friend’s birthday. The location on the river was absolutely gorgeous! We really enjoyed the hot tub and sitting in the Adirondack chairs by the river. The home is beautifully decorated, and so cozy! We didn’t realize that the bathrooms were not attached to the bedrooms, but it didn’t really matter since the hostess provides big fluffy bathrobes. The kitchen is small but sufficient and even has an Alexa for listening to your favorite tunes. The hostess has really thought of every detail to make your stay comfortable and convenient. Highly recommend!

Amazing set away
If you are looking for a quiet get away- this is it! The views are breath taking and the hostess is just incredible. You feel like you are home the second you walk in the door. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars and not 5 is that the beds are very firm. If you like a firm bed- there is nothing that should stop you from escaping to this oasis in the mountains!

Family time
The property is amazing, we all forgot about our phones. We rode bikes, roasted marshmallows, played ping pong, waded in the river and we never made it to our river tubing or zip lining, we were enjoying ourselves so much we didn’t want to leave the property.

Most relaxing getaway!
We had such an amazing time at the River House. It was so nice to relax, away from our busy city life. This was the PERFECT place to do that. Sharon had the best communication and made our stay so enjoyable. Coffee in the morning, by the river, was the best! Along with finishing our night off relaxing in the hot tub. We had plans to go and venture out, but we just stayed and relaxed the entire time at the River House!

Splendor at the River House
We had a wonderful experience at the River House, the home is comfortable and luxurious. It is convenient to the Creeper Trail, Damascus and Abingdon. This location offers many fantastic amenities and all the tranquility you could want by the South Fork Holston. Sharon was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. She provides so many extras that we were surprised to see within the kitchen as well with the spa towels and robes for hot tub use. We had a fantastic time playing billiards in the basement and opening up the bay doors to play ping pong in the massive garage. The yard was very inviting, having a fantastic orientation for morning and evening sunlight. We had plenty of room for whiffle ball, bottle bash and many other yard games. There is excellent shading by the river, an outstanding fire pit, and stellar views from hot tub throughout the day and night. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the River House and we will return as soon as possible!

The absolute best place to relax and unwind
If you are looking for a place to disconnect and relax, this is it. This property is really great inside and out and the host, Sharon, creates a really welcoming experience. The outside of the house is nothing short of fantastic. We spent so much time reading beside and in the river. The fire pit and porches were enjoyable throughout the day. The hot tub was really great too. We had our coffee there in the mornings and then a glass of wine there in the evenings while we watched the sunset and the thousands of fireflies in the yard. The inside of the house was very comfortable. The beds/bedding were great, as were the couches. The kitchen was extremely well stocked. There were all kinds of nice touches around the house like a bluetooth speaker to use, games to play, books to read, and there was a tv, but I have no clue if it works because there is absolutely zero reason to turn on a tv while you are here!

Family Girls Trip
The River House was the perfect getaway for our girl's weekend. The house was relaxing and comfortable. We felt right "at home" as soon as we walked through the door. We were welcomed with a delicious basket of goodies from Sharon and Bob, who I may add, were quick to reply when we had questions prior to our visit. The beds were extremely comfortable with luxury sheets. The house was stocked with everything you may need, & things you may have forgotten. Seriously, nothing has been overlooked! The location of the property is ideal. You will feel far away in a country setting, but you are just minutes from great restaurants and shopping. Our "girl's only" group felt very safe in the area. We dined in Marion and Abingdon - lots of choices. We shopped at The Pinnacle Mall in Bristol, a festival in Abingdon, etc. Yet our favorite day of our trip was spent relaxing at the house, enjoying the hot tub & amenities. We did try to fish while we were there, but the recent rains made the river too swift. We made smores in the evening and listened to the river. This trip was truly good for our souls. Thank you for sharing your beautiful River House with us. We will be back! :)
