Located in a small quaint town. The outward appearance was okay, the lobby was fairly nice with old character & charm, the front desk manager was pleasant & courteous, the stairway and hallway leading to our room was characteristic of a stately old hotel, and then we opened the door to our room. It reminded me of a “flop house” room in a “seedy” hotel. Poorly patched holes in the wall, paint all over the once elaborate trim, mismatched posters pinned up on the walls, sparse mismatched furniture, burned out lightbulbs and a bathroom that also needed a lot of TLC. We booked our room for two nights based on favorable reviews, rates, location, and pictures. But, after seeing the condition of our room, I informed the manager we would be cancelling our second night’s stay. He did apologize several times and I informed him it wasn’t his fault. Our room was not at all as pictured or advertised on Expedia. Bait & switch by owner?? Cancellation for second night through Expedia was simple. Breakfast was a very basic continental version of grab & go. We did feel that our bed was comfortable. The restaurant/lounge is not operational either. This old hotel definitely has a lot of potential if the owner is willing to invest some money into it. But what we experienced that isn’t so right now, sadly.
