“We had a wonderful stay at Lavaland in the Lava bus. The bus was comfortable, clean, warm, and had everything we needed for our two-night stay. We loved the star-filled skies, outdoor shower, delicious honey and eggs, and the lava landscape. The owners are welcoming and kind, and they gave us a tour of the unique property. We hope to return soon!”

“What a delightful find for our family of 8! Lots of room for everyone to spread out and relax between the 2 yurts. Beds and furniture were comfy, the interior lighting (esp around the inside top edge of the yurt) gave a cozy feel, and everything was spic and span clean. The deck with picnic table and shade umbrella would have been the idyllic place for us to gather while grilling and enjoying the amazing view and sweet breezes -- if we only would have had just one more night! “The gecko is definitely more updated than its nextdoor neighbor. Both were spotless. However both are in dire need of new loveseats, or at least do a serious deep cleaning of these. The bed was very comfortable, which is amazing considering how bad my back is! The location was perfect for us because our forever home is in lower Ocean View. But for tourist it would be the perfect half way point between Hilo & Kona. And Pinapple the cat is adorable!”

“The property is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. It is not an easy place to get to after dark because the streets are very steep, narrow and dark. The hostess was very kind and helpful in suggesting activities for us. One challenge is very little water available during periods of drought (like now), so we were encouraged to conserve as much water as possible.”

“Absolutely loved staying here and Jacob and Morena are top notch hosts! We love to get out and about and they were able to suggest some really awesome places to visit. “We made a last minute decision to go to Hawaii for Christmas and got lucky to find this home. Host was super communicative and easy to work with. Lani was great with views and ocean breeze. We wanted beds and rooms for 5 adults so this worked out well. Having 3 full bathrooms was a bonus. Quiet town and lots of driving but that was perfect for our adventures going to volcano, beaches and waterfalls. Great family memories for a lifetime.”
