Ski week
The cabin was wonderful just like the pictures. It was very clean and comfortable. You can’t ask for more. We sat around the fire place every night and watched the Elk go by. Awesome grill outside which we used a few nights. The pool table was fun. We go every year to Maggie Valley to ski and glad we found this cabin. Would like to say thank you to Bruce our host for the great time we had. I would highly recommend this cabin, it will not disappoint!!

Great location
We had a great trip. The cabin was in a great location and very convenient to Cataloochee Ski resort. We were able to watch elk in the morning right from our front porch. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking all of our meals. Check in was easy. The cabin was clean and beds were comfortable! Can’t wait for our next trip.

Fabulous!
We had a wonderful stay at Elk Haven! The cabin was new and beautiful! It had a beautiful wrap around porch with tockers that I would have enjoyed more if it wasn’t so windy and cold ghe days we were there. Truly easy access with plenty of space to park - not the tiny spaces at other lications. It was very convenient to Cataloochee ski resort, and my niece loved seeing the elk! Bruce continually stayed in touch with us and the complimentary water and snacks were perfect since I didn’t have time to run to the store. Thank you, Bruce!

Christmas trip dream
In all of our VRBO experience this was by far the best. This cabin was the cleanest we have ever stayed at and that is a big deal for us. It wasn’t overly decorated or full of stuff so you had room for your stuff. The neighbors were extremely nice and helpful. We had Elk outside in the yard all day and night. Beautiful views.

Fabulous Cabin!!
This cabin is absolutely beautiful! Great communication with Bruce the owner. The highlight of this cabin are the elk that visit on a daily basis. You can stand on the deck and watch them all around the house. We highly recommend this cabin and plan to be back again.

Photos & description of cabin are accurate. Very well appointed & stocked w/essentials. Everything in the cabin was top quality. Step outside for beautiful views of Smokey Mtns. and Elk in yard. Plenty of things to do a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

Top-Notch Stay
Elk Haven Lodge is surrounded by beautiful mountains and lovely scenery yet is located in the middle of Maggie Valley and all the conveniences that it offers. The porch is perfect for wildlife viewing or socializing with family or friends. The interior of the cabin is tastefully and comfortably furnished, and suited the needs of our family of 6 well. The kitchen was very well stocked, and the entire property was impeccably clean inside and out. We highly recommend Elk Haven Lodge when staying in the Maggie Valley area.

Great elk watching
Loved our stay at Elk Haven. Host thinks of. The cabin was beyond stocked. Beautifully decorated & clean. Elk watching in the morning & evening along with pool table & fire pit kept use very entertained. The area is beautiful & lots of great shops & restaurants along with great fishing locations. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful cabin!!! Great location!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the cabin! It was even nicer than the pictures and the pictures are gorgeous as it is! The cabin is immaculate and has everything you might want or need! It was better than staying in a hotel. The wraparound porch, the views, relaxing fire pit area, and comfort make it one of our favorite trips! We would absolutely stay here again and will recommend it to anyone else heading to this area! Thank you Bruce for making it so lovely and being available if we needed anything!!

Surrounded by Mountains
The cabin was clean, well equipped and the property was perfect. The wrap around porch was a big plus. The cabin is in a great area. Close to the Blue Ridge Pkwy, Asheville and things to do like whitewater rafting, mountain biking, hiking, restaurants and sight seeing. Another big plus was the well kept yard and field around it, allowing our boys to play games out there and catch fire flies at night and cannot forget the nightly Elk visits. We will be back! We also made sure to leave the beautiful cabin as we found it.

Lovely setting
This beautiful property had all the amenities that one would need in a peaceful, serene setting. The nightly elk visits were beyond belief! The house was clean, well stocked and in a great (easy to access) location- especially for those hauling a trailer. The owner was responsive and friendly. Would highly recommend this property and will look to book again in the future.

Fantastic stay
Stayed May 23-29. 2 couples. First of all Bruce has been excellent. He went above and beyond to guide us how to get to the cabin. I used Apple Maps to navigate but it took us to a different neighborhood. The cabin is spotless, complete amenities and the view was amazing! It has a carport, we had an SUV and two Harley bikes. It rained for couple of days, so the carport was a big plus! We love the wrap around porch! King bed was great and TV in each room. We cook breakfast, and cook steaks on the grill on our second night, complete utensils and cookware. Keurig coffee maker and coffee pods were provided. We stayed in the living room and watch some movies and favorite shows. There were several Elk showed up almost everyday at our yard! We were so excited to see them in the morning and evening. We rode our Harley motorcycles to the mountains. This is our second time in Maggie Valley, but first time staying in this cabin. We loved the place! 5 star review for this place! Definitely recommended! Can’t wait to come back!

Great place for a weekend getaway!
The cabin was perfect and every detail was covered with all the things you will need. The furnishings were nice and beds were comfortable. Great outdoor area and fire pit. The local Elk herd visits every evening to graze in the field next door. We counted over 20 of them right outside the property. They are not aggressive and keep to themselves. Great time and great views. Close to all the shops and restaurants in Maggie Valley.

Better than expected!
I booked this cabin for a weekend ski getaway for my wife’s birthday. The weather coming in for a little interesting but they were ready for it with salted roads and snow plows! One personal touch that I have never had was from Bruce, the property owner. First he was very flexible with our check in time as we didn’t know what to expect coming in with the weather. Second, he made it a point to call and check in just to make sure we made it in safely. The cabin was gorgeous! Mountain View’s from any direction on the wrap around porch! The inside was immaculate, clean top to bottom, looked like a show room floor. The very first night, we had elk walk right up to the cabin only feet away! We were centralized to food and fun never having to go far for anything. There is nothing that I would have changed about our trip, it was perfect!

Wonderful Experience
We really enjoyed our stay! It was just as described. Everything was clean and well maintained. There is construction going on around, as this is a new development. It didn’t bother us though, as it was a short stay and we were gone during the day. My family really enjoyed playing pool and the fireplace in the evenings. It was too cold this stay, but the fire pit outside would be perfect in another season. We saw elk upon arrival; just as we entered the development. This was a blessing!! The views of the mountains are wonderful. The location is great; central to many things in Maggie Valley and other surrounding towns. Very easy access to the cabin; flat, maintained, hard surface roads. The kitchen is well stocked with all kinds of cookware and small appliances, from toaster, coffee pot, blender, mixer, roaster pan, crockpot, waffle maker, pots/pans, colander, etc. We didn’t use much, but everything is there to cook essentially any kind of meal. Bring whatever food, spices and condiments you want. We didn’t see any firewood for the pit, so bring that. Indoor fireplace is gas. Basic essentials are provided as starters (like TP, soaps, paper towels), but you may want to bring extras if staying for a longer time. There are several Dollar General stores close by if you need to get something, also a liquor store (ABC), but I believe the closest grocery stores are in Waynesville. Owner communication was fantastic. We look forward to returning in another season!!
