Great spot! Great people!
The property owner doesn’t miss a single thing! Having everything a beachside rental should have, and all in good condition, makes the day fun. A gorgeous walk street and a perfect parking spot in the back. Two blocks to the beach and boardwalk, two-three blocks to just about everywhere. The rental is charming and 100% recommended.

Wonderful stay
Joanne was a wonderful host! She was attentive and went out of her way to make us feel at home. Cozy, clean space with everything we needed for our family trip. Would definitely stay again! Loved being so close to Venice Beach, walking to Santa Monica shopping and pier, and many great restaurants!

Spent a wonderful 8 days at this cozy apartment just a 3 minute walk to the beach. Thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed including bikes. We will be back!

Good Location

Attached to main house
I suppose it was my rush in looking for a place, but I neglected to note the last line of the property description: duplex. The rental is not a casita but attached to the main house and subject to the drum of footsteps overhead. The location so close to the beach was exceptional. Owner might want to reconsider the mattresses in the bunk room. A little like Goldilocks, one is too hard and the other too soft. Also, owner does not communicate via the app, encourages one to text her or her son’s phone.

Great location to explore a variety of activities!
The property is exactly as described in the listing. The location is good and having a parking space included is priceless in this area! We had everything we needed during our stay and we enjoyed using the bikes that were provided by the host. Also provided were boogie boards and all of the beach supplies that you need as well as a grill (which we did use and it worked great). The place is cozy, including the outdoor space. It's all super quaint, but is sometimes a tight squeeze for two adults and two adult-sized teenagers, but we made it work. Our only small complaint is the outdoor noise (esp. in the front bedroom) when trying to sleep. We had a couple of nights of loud yelling right outside the property that kept us awake, plus traffic noise is present. No fault of the property owner, of course. Joanne is a great host. Very kind and communicative. The location is great, overall. We drove all over LA to do a variety of activities and Venice was a great home base!

Great Location and Place to Stay
We had a wonderful trip to Los Angeles and stayed in a perfect location. Joanne was an excellent host and great to work with. She even had a bike rented for our son to ride while we were there.

Fantastic place to stay in Venice!
We had such a wonderful 2 weeks staying in Joanne's property. It is ideally located a few steps to the beach and central to everything in Venice. The property was very clean, so well equipped with everything you could possibly need.... It was comfortable and cosy. An ideal location from which to explore Venice, Santa Monica and LA. Kitchen has everything you could need to self cater, nice hot shower, comfortable beds, heating for the cooler months. Wifi worked well and the kids appreciated having both Netflix and Roku on the TV! Joanne couldn't have been more welcoming and offered all her support, thank you for our stay, we highly recommend it!

Joanne and Joseph are amazing hosts! We will definitely be returning.
Property is located in an amazing location about a block from historic than a speech. Shops and restaurants within walking distance. The host provides everything you could possibly need while you’re staying there, and even dropped off sticky buns and flowers to brighten our stay. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful location
We stayed for almost two weeks, and had a wonderful time. My daughter was working at UCLA during the day, and every site she needed to be at was a short drive. I was without a car while she worked, but I loved walking the beach and Santa Monica. There were a lot of lovely stores, museums and restaurants in walking distance. The proximity to the beach was prime. Thanks for a lovely stay Joanne!

Well equipped, perfect location
Family, with two adults and children 12 And 14 years old: We were welcomed by Joanne and her son, who gave us useful tips about the apartment and the area. Ice cream in the freeze for the kids upon arrival, which the kids loved. The apartment has a private backyard, with a BBQ (didn’t use it), 4 bikes, 4-5 bodyboards, 4 brand new Tommy Bahama beach chairs, 2 beach umbrellas and a trolly to use to the beach. A short stroll to the beach and restaurants. Inside there were 3 large and comfortable beds: 1 large queen and a bunk bed (2 queens). They have recently installed a air conditioner. Due to the heat wave this was very appreciated. Like other AC, this didn’t have to run constantly. It was very effective, and the nice sea breeze also helped to keep the temperature at a comfortable level. The kitchen was well equipped and have everything we needed and more. Small dishwasher in the kitchen and a washer and a dryer Outside. Parking space right outside was also big plus. Keyless locks both to the yard and to The front door was convenient. We loved every about our our stay, And after almost 4 months of traveling, this is without a doubt our favorite place to stay! Thank you so much, Joanne!

Perfect location and lovely amenities.
We had a lovely stay with the nicest host. The House is full of charm due to the Old age. It is in no way modern or upscale, but has the charm is a house from 1905. We preferred to clean a little when we arrived. It has a perfect location right by the Venice Boardwalk and Joanne is doing everything in her capacity to help and assist. Joanne even brought a huge Winnie the Pooh teddy for me daughter when she hurt her foot badly on the buggy board. There are lovely amenities in the house and we rode bikes a lot, and used the buggy boards. We never felt unsafe in the neighborhood though it can be a little rowdy - as the rest of Venice. Absolutely lovely cafes and restaurants nearby. Thank You Joanne for everything. We had a lovely time!

A lovely home
Our stay was lovely. We were a bit cramped with four adults (our choice, as a way to save money!), but it was so nice to have a home to return to at the end of the day. The location of Joanne's place is excellent, only a short walk to the beach and to many coffee shops. I would definitely stay again.

Very nice little beach rental half a block from Venice beach.
Nice private property with reserved parking and private entrance. All necessary immunities including bikes and beach necessities. Shower is a highlight of this property and very nice. Rental unit is a Single floor conversion of a multi level historic home. Master bedroom is open concept off main living space and open with large windows. Walking distance to beach restaurants and shops.

Great Location
We’ve stayed at the south end of Venice a few times, but we really loved this place at the north end. Great walkable access to restaurants on Rose Ave. Charming apartment with lots of beach gear for the whole family. We will definitely stay here again.

Charming historic property in a great location
We truly enjoyed our stay at Joanne's wonderful retreat so near Venice Beach. The property is an historic Victorian home; Joanne has maintained it's turn of the century charm while also updating it with so many comfortable amenities. We had everything for our needs in the kitchen, bath and living spaces. The private outdoor patio is a lovely spot where we often enjoyed breakfasts and dinners. Plenty of towels, including beach towels and linens. And a washer & dryer was very handy as well. We had some nice rides on Joanne's bikes. Joanne also has a stash of balls (basketballs, volleyballs) and boogie boards that we did not get a chance to use because we were too busy with other stuff. Easy to walk to many restaurants and coffee shops and a dedicated parking space was a much appreciated amenity. Joanne checked in with us regularly and was immediately attentive to anything we needed. She is so kind and friendly. Directions to the property were very good and instructions for access were also great. It's a truly comfortable and restful place - we certainly hope to be back again soon!

Perfect location for all one's needs
We enjoyed the easy proximity to the ocean, the boardwalk, groceries and restaurants. But the cozy beachy feel of our accommodations, our hosts kindness and availability, made our stay for a post medical surgery more like being in a home than just a 12 day rental.

Beachside in Venice
Overall we had a great stay. This property's best attribute is its location. The price was very fair for the location. Though the house says that it is for up to 6 people, only 4 are included in the price. After that, there is an extra charge for each person. This is unusual for a rental property. The house, itself, and its furnishings are a bit dated, and we could hear a dog on the property barking every morning, which woke us up. Another plus was that there were bikes, beach chairs, and boogie boards to use that were included. We had some issue with the bikes, but JoAnne had them fixed immediately. She was very responsive to any issues that came up. There was a grill and nice outdoor table to use, and included in the house were condiments and all the cooking basics (salt, pepper, cooking oil), which was super nice. There is a Costco 10 minutes away and a whole foods 5 minutes away. Again, this house was a great value, and we would stay here again.
