I booked a family room with a king bed and a sofa bed for two nights but was checked in to a room with just the king bed.
When I brought this up with the staff, there was no empathy from them whatsoever. They claimed Expedia sent the wrong booking and the attitude was, we dont have the room you booked available, if you dont want the room, check out and ask Expedia for the refund.
I got in touch with Expedia, who called the hotel and got the same response.
This was Friday evening and I had an event on Saturday morning, so thought to manage the room and then claim the difference in price beteeen the two rooms back.
The room itself was not great. Apart from everything being dated, the room was also not cleaned properly, The lamps were dusty and there was hair strands of a previous guest in the shower.
The bath tap was old, discoloured and squirted water when turned on.
On a positive note, the air conditioning was effective and the bed was comfortable.
As a result of all of these, l decided to shorten my stay, so checked out a day early. Even then, the attitude was, okay, bye.
So I cut my two day holiday to Liverpool short and went back home afer one day.
When I asked the hotel to refund me the difference in the price of the room I booked and the room I was given, the directed me back to Expedia, since I booked through them.
Expedia contacted them and they declined to refund the difference, quoting some policies.
Eventually, Expedia kindly refunded me.the whole stay.
