We most loved the deck on the front of the cabin. Many hours were spent just sitting on the deck and enjoying the view. The lake is quite private and peaceful. The cabin is super cool and definitely a labor of love for the family that built it. It's nice that they are willing to share it with us.
The listing agents, Jaqua Realtors, seem set on being a premiere rental agency. Some aspects of the listing were not exactly accurate but I think they are working to improve them. Be aware that the owner has signs prohibiting fishing even though that is not mentioned in the listing and fishing seems like a main attraction for a property like this. We experienced strong disappointment upon arrival because we had looked forward to it for quite some time. It was not a great way to start vacation. Another important note is that there are only 4 bedrooms not 5. 5 of the 16 beds are in the main living space.
Firewood was recently delivered and should be seasoned by the time future guests arrive. There is not a gravel parking area, only the loop. Be prepared to walk down the grass a little ways to get everything to and from the door. A landscaped walkway connected to a deck that extends to the corner of the house would be nice.
Only a canoe and a pedal boat are provided. The listing title used to mention kayaks but those were not provided. The water entry is very mucky and weedy, but there is a dock that extends into the lilly pads a ways.
Be sure to bring all of your drinking water.
