8/10 Bueno

I recently stayed here and had a decent overall experience. When I arrived after the front desk had closed, their after-hours check-in system made me a little uneasy. My room keys were left in a large envelope with my name on it, hanging on the front desk gate. In my opinion, lockboxes with codes would feel much more secure. On top of that, my first room had an exterior glass door that was left unlocked when I arrived, which added to the concern.
That room also had some small issues—the sprinkler outside kept hitting the glass door around 2–3am making noise, and in the morning light came straight through the sides of the shade onto the bed. The next morning I shared my concerns, and the front desk staff were incredibly kind, apologetic, and moved me right away. My new room was great and I had no further problems for the rest of my stay.
The positives are definitely worth noting: both rooms were very large, clean, and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable, the AC was cold, the WiFi was great and the water pressure was excellent. The hotel has a very “Utah” character to it, which I enjoyed. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly and helpful, and they even let me extend my stay an extra night with no hassle.
The only other odd thing was being charged 25 cents for ice, which I’ve never experienced at a hotel before. They also don’t have a restaurant onsite, but they’re affiliated with a place inside the Sinclair station a few miles away—and it’s very good!
