The location on the water was very nice and peaceful what we wanted. I titled the review "rustic" because that was our parting summary. The cabin needs work beyond TLC, as stated in a previous review. The floors are very squeaky, to the point of waking others from sleep when walking around. I do realize this is a cabin, but this was excessively noisy. The entertainment and media package was disappointing. The larger tv in the living room was configured for DVD only, not for TV watching. The TV in the bedroom was much smaller with poor resolution. The internet connectivity was not available more than it was available, and wifi was at times available without internet. If this was our first time staying in Lake Lure, I might think this resulted from being in the mountains, but we know it is not. For the life of me, I looked and looked for the dishwasher as advertised and could not find it, it shouldn't be that hard to find in a cabin. I'm guessing the dishwasher is the guest. The screen door to the porch - the screen has separated from the frame and needs repair, so the door can be opened without bugs coming in through the screen.
The deck and dock are very nice and provide a great view. The towels and sheets were very clean, so we thank you for that. Thankfully the water pressure in the shower was acceptable because the water flow in the kitchen was little more than a trickle. We didn't do much cooking in the cabin but what we did do the oven and microwave were great.
Above all else, the coffee pot had mold in the water reserve was unacceptable.
I did call maintenance regarding the internet, and they replied promptly and were very nice. But, unfortunately, he could not do anything to help but say he would let the owner know.
The majority of the time, we could not access the internet. I would strongly recommend that you bring a hot spot if you need the internet if you are renting. This should be an easy fix for the owner, given the price per night that was charged.
