“We booked this house because of its proximity to friends who live on the island and the views, as shown in the listing. The house is well stocked and the views are gorgeous. Many reviews comment on how old the house it is, but I found it in great shape/ functional and clean. It also has a special beach charm. My only concern is that the “kid’s room” has its own entrance/ exit. We used outdoor chairs to “barricade” the door at night to ensure safety while sleeping. An exterior lock would be nice...

“Beautiful views of the area and Mt. Baker! This house is in a nice neighborhood with lots of space between them, so the yard is private, and the deck is huge! Kitchen was updated and accommodated cooking meals for our family reunion. Rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. A/C was a plus on the warm weekend we spent there. The shower door needs some repair but overall everything worked great. Would stay again! ”

“What a great place to stay. The house is so comfortable and the deck is fabulous. Views of Puget Sound & the Olympic Mountains along with great sunsets. Bruce & Diane are very accommodating hosts. We took their recommendations in dining out but you can’t beat the waterfront dining prepared in the well stocked kitchen. So much fun to see eagles from the house along with all the different ships going by, even a submarine! It was a wonderful stay.”

“What a view! And with the changing tides, the view actually changes throughout the day, which is so fun. The access to the beach just out the door was so nice. We brought a paddle board and could go out on the water as we pleased. Came across the coffee bar at Captain whidbey’s next door and could walk along the beach to go grab breakfast to go. The house itself was just fine. No bells and whistles, but clean. ”

“Tyee Blue Heron cottage is beautifully done inside and sits with a beautiful beach and view. We had to wait thru a day of rain and then the sun came out and it warmed up. We saw Orca whales swim up the straight and you wonderful representative on the island was in contact and let us know she would text us if she heard they were back. This is our second time here and we have loved it both times. We will be back!”
