This property, on a beautiful beach, is worth almost 6 million but the house, built in 1938, is basically a tear-down. Unfortunately, the owner has not invested anything in basic maintenance or upgrades. Most of the windows do not lock so the house is not secure. Some windows don't have screens. The house needs new windows -- most don't open/close easily or can't see through them. The property profile states that it has a barbeque grill, which the owner verified in a message, but there was no propane in a rusty old tank and the grill wasn't clean, couldn't use it anyway. The property manager did not respond to our message. The picnic table on the back patio has black mold and loose boards--not usable, should be hauled away, could be dangerous for kids. There was no bath soap, shampoo or facial tissues. An A/C unit in one bedroom didn't work. The roof looks like it could fall in any minute. The grounds were a mess but someone came to clean up the debris as we were leaving. About 20 black trash bags in the backyard filled with yard debris, should be hauled away. Backyard is very large, could use a volleyball net, a pickleball court or something like that. There are various other minor maintenance and cleanliness issues. The description states that it's a "beach-worn" home but with some maintenance and attention it could be so much more pleasant, enjoyable and respectful to guests. But a beautiful beach, and the surrounding homes are beautiful too.
