Great stay in the middle of the jungle
The property is the last on the road with a great view to the forest. However it was not as lonely as we thought since there is another house slightly obscuring the view to the volcano on the same property. The studio was generally clean and furnishings are somewhat aged. A general deep cleaning everywhere would be nice. Augustin was very good with conversations from the beginning to the end. Overall it was a great stay in the middle of the forest.

Great views
The location was beautiful and quaint. the host was great in communication. The air in this location wasnt very cold but the host promptly adjusted our location by putting is in another location that was just as beautiful with a wonderful view.

Volcano get away
Every where you look from this property there is a beautiful view. Not just the volcano but also the jungle and the lake; absolutely stunning. We walked down the trail to Walden falls and it was our favorite part of the day. Don’t miss out on the local restaurant halfway down the hill. Fabulous food, people, and views. The bed was comfortable and the space was very comfortable for two people.

We actually didnt stay at this exact apartment due to not having 4WD (which is definitely required), but the welcome center was more than helpful. Since we didnt have the right car to get up the long rocky driveway, they put us in another apartment down the street with an arguably better view! it was clean, in a beautiful location with lots of birdwatching to do!

Un lugar que da ganas de quedarse
Pasamos dos semanas inolvidables.Lilian y su familia cuidaron hasta el último detalle para que estemos cómodos y fueron más que amables. El lugar es ideal para los que disfrutamos estar conectados con la naturaleza. Agustín contestó cada una de nuestras preguntas en el welcome center y nos dio buenas sugerencias. Ya queremos volver !! Fantastic secluded villa
The house had a beautiful jungle view and volcano view. The property also has a nice adventurous hike to a waterfall (where the owners provide mud shoes for convenience ) The long driveway would be a bit difficult without 4 wheel drive.but this was communicated to us well in advance.

Great stay
It was really a great stay. Every little thing was considered. The studio was perfectly equipped, quiet in a beautiful setting. There was even a small Christmas tree for us. The welcome from Welcome Center Explore El Castillo CR was also very friendly. Thank you for the great time. P.S. We managed the road without 4 wheel. It was okay with a car class 2 and a good driver. Fortuna/Monteverde is really really touristic. But the studio is away from all this. Don't mind to book.

Breathtaking!
The Laughing Falcon is the perfect spot for nature lovers and bird watchers! The view from the porch is spectacular with the rainforest and Arenal volcano in the background. There was enough to do and see around the Laughing Falcon that I could have stayed put all week between birdwatching, walking the mountain, hiking down to our personal waterfall, visiting the garden, and resting in the many great spots provided. But, we did venture out daily to visit nearby “attractions”. There are so many things to do within a 45 minute drive. The little book provided in our VRBO was very helpful in providing information about the location including where to buy groceries, the nearby activities, and what to look for on the property. The kitchen had just the right amenities for us to make meals. Our garbage was taken daily and mid week we were provided with clean towels and bedding. The host for this property was wonderful! He was very friendly and patient with us (we got there a bit later than anticipated). Throughout the week he was available at the Welcome Center for questions. There are only a few things I would say that could have made it even better. The bathroom could use an exhaust fan. There were some small details missing but nothing major. The tenants next door were sweet and helpful but there were some minor daily noise distractions. With that being said, we would definitely stay at this location again!

On the top of a large hill
We found this nice studio comfortable and with everything needed. Over the years we have stayed in many different hotels so we knew the area. Make sure you book Tabacon Hot springs it a must.

Wonderful view!
Had a great stay. Getting up to the property is difficult at night (but so worth it for the view). Make sure to pay attention or take notes when you follow the golf cart up after checking in. We felt safe and comfortable. Overall, a nice place.

Amazing view and great staff to work with.
We loved our stay. The staff was easy to talk to and answered any questions. We had the power kick off and when we talked to the property manager they reached out to the other locations nearby to see if they had lost it too. Power was restored within 15 minutes. The location was very clean and had mud boots to use on the hike down to the waterfall and streams.

Paradise in the jungle
We had a great time at this house. The views were amazing and the landscaping and garden was beautiful. We hiked down to the water and that was extreme but well worth it. We already booked for next year!

Stunning
This place was absolutely incredible. From waking to the sound of toucans, to seeing Arenal appear through misty fog bordered by rainforest, a magical walk to the property’s waterfall, the kindness of every person we interacted with on the mountain (neighbor property managers, managers at Phoenix restaurant where one can receive breakfast, and so many others), and the cleanliness of the space - everything was stunning. We would love to return. Thank you to everyone who made this such a wonderful stay.

Amazing views and perfectly stocked
This place was magical! The view of the volcano from the porch was beautiful in the mornings, and cloud covered and mystical in the evenings. The land in front of the home is lush, manicured and stunning. The last mile or so is a rough road so I do recommend a 4x4 vehicle. Many activities available within a 30 minute drive including Volcano hike, (free) hot springs, zip lining, rappelling, hanging bridges, La Fortuna waterfall. There is an induction cooktop with two burners and a microwave so cooking was easy. It is a studio but spacious and very comfortable. I could easily be comfortable there for an extended months long stay!

Excellent location and host.
This property is right at the top of the most perfect Hill in Monte verde. It overlooks the volcano and the rainforest and has a beautiful waterfall that you can walk to. The host was excellent to work with as well.

Gorgeous view, comfortable and very clean.
The mile up the hill on rutted roads is tough. You will want an SUV. But the views are amazing. The place has all you need, including loaner umbrellas and binoculars. Incredibly clean. We made sandwiches upon arrival and went out on the deck to eat them. I dropped a piece of cheese. When I picked it up, there was no visible dirt on it. We were outside! Astonishing. We dropped laundry at the caretaker next door and at the end of the day it was clean, folded, in our unit for $5 a load. Quiet and peaceful but not far from attractions and shopping. Breakfast at the restaurant down the hill is included. We hope to be back some day.

Such a great place!
Perfect location. Just the right size for two people. Breakfast was great every morning; it definitely took away the effort of getting up and cooking or finding breakfast. The rental had everything we needed. The private waterfall is a nice added bonus. The views were absolutely breathtaking.

Amazing spot with the best view!
My girlfriend and I loved this property, wake up to a hot breakfast and a view of the rainforest without a building in sight. John met us at the gate on our arrival and was very pleasant and informative. Absolutely take the walk/hike down to their private waterfall trail!

Beautiful setting! Wonderful experience, overall!
We loved staying at Laughing Falcon! John and Sue were very gracious hosts, and the breakfasts Lillian served us each day were delicious! The gardens on this property are absolutely gorgeous and the views of the volcano and the rainforest from our balcony were amazing. There is SO much to do around LaFortuna... or if you prefer to relax and stay put in beautiful surroundings, this is the place to go!!

Off the beaten path heaven
John and Susan are the most amazing hosts. Their clear communication and tips for making the most of our time in the mountains were invaluable and helped make our trip more memorable than we could ever have hoped for. The property itself was comfortable and the views breathtaking. This place on top of the hill is a slice of heaven and the kindness of the hosts and their support group made us feel at home. We will be back, guaranteed! Pura vida!!!
