Wouldn't describe as “lovely villa”
Older property. Clean but popcorn ceilings, sagging sofa and chipped wood and paint throughout. Poor lighting and sagging shower curtain rod. Overall, a depressing experience. Has definitely seen better days. Check in and out was fine. Very cramped layout.

Clean spacious villa- quick walk to the beach.
I was by myself and the West Beach villa was perfect- villa was clean, bathroom was updated and kitchen had everything needed for a few nights stay. Quick walk to the beach. Check in process was easy and they checked in with me often to make sure everything was satisfactory- would definitely stay there again!

We stayed here due to its location to the conference center. Its a very short walk to the conference center and the beach, 2 miles from Freshfield's. The unit was great for just being myself and my wife.

RODENT INFESTATION
This property has a serious pest problem. We were awoken one morning by a mouse (or rat...it was big) in the bed crawling across my wife. When we went to the main room and kitchen, we saw a second mouse/rat scurrying on the counter. There was rodent feces all over the counter and floor nearby. The property also has tons of bugs (probably because of the rats). I expect some bugs in a southern marshy location, but I have never seen this many flies and other insects in a house/condo. I would highly recommend to look for another property, as the mouse in the bed was one of the worst travel experiences we have had.

Road Trip of the South
We are from Colorado and have not spent much time traveling in the South. We started our road trip in Murrells Inlet with friends then Kiawah was our first stop. We enjoyed the Island and found our favorite place was down at the Bohicket Marina with Fresh Fields also a very nice market area. The rental was very clean and in a great location for exploring.

We really enjoyed our stay. This is an excellent property that is very close to the beach. Perfect size for a couple with a well-equipped kitchen and a wonderful screened-in balcony, with pond/fountain views. We enjoyed the beautiful serenade from the frogs, birds, and other wildlife. The property has been well updated; air conditioner works great, appliances are fairly new, and we recommend having a few meals on the balcony. There are two large flatscreens, with wifi, so you can use your prime, Netflix, or hulu accounts.There are plenty of bike racks out front and the dumpster is very convenient (20ft from stairwell).

We loved Kiawah Island but we won't stay in this rental again
This was our first visit to Kiawah Island and we loved exploring the island, and the location of this rental unit worked well for us (myself, husband, and two young kids). This was a last minute trip and this was one of the last few available units in our price range. I dismissed previous reviews about its cleanliness but I should have heeded their warnings. Upon arriving and unpacking, I opened the cabinet under the bathroom sink and stored in the cabinet was a toilet plunger and a hairdryer--with the hairdryer touching the plunger. YUCK! I have never stayed anywhere with a plunger stored in the cabinet, so it left us without bathroom storage because we have no way of knowing whether it had been used before. Following that up, we all took off our shoes and walked around the unit and we all ended up with filthy feet. The floors had not been mopped--or at least not adequately. And as other noted, the couch is dirty. Moving on from cleanliness, the kitchen also had a lack of storage. There is not one cabinet available for storing food. We didn't do heavy cooking in the kitchen but one empty cabinet to store snacks, cereal, and other pantry items would have been really nice. During our stay, we had to call management because the bathroom tub didn't drain, we didn't have a cutting board, and we indicated that 4 people would be staying and we only received of towels for 2 people. They were quick in taking care of these items but the cutting board they brought us was tiny (6" x 8")--it worked in a pinch but a regular sized cutting board would be really nice. And lastly, most beach rentals we've stayed at have provided beach chairs and towels, this unit had one very rusty and very stained chair and no towels--so just a heads up that you need to bring them or buy them while visiting (these items were not in the listing but I wanted to point it out so it doesn't come as a surprise to others).

The villa is in need of significant updating. The furniture, especially the sofa was totally worn.
The property was in serious need of updating. The furniture was totally unacceptable. We had to have the rug removed as it was a trip hazzard. The toliet seat was awful. Totally worn out. The floor was like a trampoline in many places.
