Dishonest owner and poorly maintained room
I have a mold allergy and have to be careful where I stay or I will become ill. I reached out to the owner in advance of booking to ask if there had been a history of water leaks or mold in the building. He assured me that there had never been any issues. I arrived around 7pm and the address was 110 but you have to enter a door that is numbered 108 I had to reach out for help about where to enter because of that confusion. The room had 3 areas of water intrusion where the sheet rock was damaged and cracked and water staining was present. The walls were dirty, the fan and bathroom vent had thick layers of dust. The bed had no protective covering over the mattress just a sheet on the mattress. The floor was buckled and soft in an area. I reached out to the owner and told him I would be leaving by 7 am and I let him know of the condition of the room. He said he would have someone look at my concerns and would get back with me on a refund. He never did. This room is not guest ready. If that wasn't enough a train goes by every hour on the hour all night and no ear plugs can overcome the noise. It is a beautiful quaint town. I was really looking forward to spending time exploring. I drove 3 hours and had to turn around and drive home. This is the second property I have rented via VRBO that has been misleading. I have used VRBO form many years and loved it but in the last 3 months I have been very disappointed.
