First everyone needs to know this is a mother in law suite and you enter by walking through the back yard. It is a private room but not a private home.
The good: it works very well if you bring dogs. The bathroom is quite nice. Multiple tvs. Bed is better than motel 6 but it’s not great.
There were a handful of things that happened throughout our stay that in combination made the place a dealbreaker. Had just one of these things happened, we could have looked past it.
1. Not having more than two clean towels for our three night stay. There was also multiple dirty towels in unit. Agent did rectify.
2. Not being able to control our own temperature. Tenant in big house has the thermostat. Whoever controls the temperature turned it down momentarily after I messaged agent but it was back to being hot all day and through the night.
3. It smelled like marijuana on multiple occasions. Just a real turnoff when I’m renting what is listed as a private VRBO. I expect that from a hotel, but not something that is listed as private.
4. When we returned from our activities there was someone parked in our spot for a solid 30 minutes. We parked on the street, but if the rule is we have to park on the right side, why does the front tenant get to have company park in that spot?
5. Flipping the breaker when using the fire place. It trips all the outlets and you have to call the agent to call the tenant. You will have to choose between controlling your heat or watching tv.
