Even though Full Moon Farm is only a mile from town, the countryside starts right at the town line. The farm is in a pristine valley with pastures extending as far as the eye can see.. the silence is interrupted only by birds. I heard wild turkeys gobbling under the oaks, horses.snorting. on the next farm over.
If you just want tranquility and no agenda, the two vacation rental cottages on the property provide a great place for down time and come with amenities worthy of a nice hotel.. private small patios, wide screen TV, wireless.
Don't worry if you didn't get to the store before arriving, fresh eggs from the farm's chickens await you in the fridge with organic olive oil next to the stove,, along with bagels & muffins.
There were tea & coffee beans & grinder, snacks on the kitchen counter, wine , craft beer and soft drinks , help yourself..
The markets in town can supplement, as there are plenty of cooking utensils, pots and pans.
A great place for couples, or families, or anyone needing a relaxing pace. Bathroom stocked with soap, shampoo, lotion, hair dryer.. A cushy king sized bed and fold out couch are in both cottages.
Your hosts are gracious and personable and will come over if you need anything. No formal checkin; the key was under the doormat.
Petting the resident friendly dogs or the horse, or talking to the chicken every morning was great fun.
For those who prefer some activities instead of napping and eating, William Heise county park is a scenic 4 mile drive and has great mountain trails
Inaja Memorial Park is 6 miles in the other direction , great for a picnic with stunning views into a 600 feet deep mountain gorge which is the site of the headwaters of the San Diego River.
Plenty of interesting shopping in eclectic stores and great places to eat in town.
I'm going back !
