This was our first foray into travel since the pandemic started a year ago. We were pretty nervous, but Brandi and the owners worked with us and answered our questions with endless patience. When we arrived, the house was incredibly clean. The pictures don't do it justice - there are two outdoor eating areas that aren't pictured and an amazing tree swing that my kids loved. We brought our own poles but the wrong lures (the fish looked like bluegills but we had planned for bass), so we didn't catch anything, but the kids still had fun.
Pros:
- super clean, well-stocked, everything has been thought of. We have been in rentals where they provide a roll of toilet paper and no back-ups - this is not the case here. It really is well-stocked. The bed linens, towels, pillows, and blankets are also all in abundance.
- views! we enjoyed every sunrise and sunset and all the time in-between
- location - easy access to lots of great trails that were kid-friendly - most drives are under an hour
- hot tub, swing, outdoor areas. There is a fire pit that was pre-stocked with branches, so we did smores (the house even has marshmallow holders, which we found after)
- big enough for our family of 5 to spread out but still feel connected
- the 'yard' is huge but we could still keep an eye on our kids from the house while they ran all over playing. We were careful to walk around with our kids when we arrived and point out areas that we made off-limits bc of the terrain
- you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere but only 20 minutes from the closest grocery store
Cons:
- Honestly, we didn't find one. The only one we can think of but which didn't affect us was that there is no 3rd floor bathroom and you have to go through a second floor room to get to the bathroom. We knew this ahead of time, though, and planned so this would not be an issue for us.
This place is an amazing find. Thanks to Brandi, Ben, and Sharla for a wonderful week of much needed relaxation.
