“We had high hopes for this ryokan, and while the stay was overall great, there were a few downsides. The property itself is gorgeous, and the staff was kind and attentive, but the place definitely had a noticeable mildew smell, which took away from the experience a bit. Unfortunately, we missed out on both breakfast and dinner because we didn’t book those in advance (lesson learned). I tried reaching out 24 hours before check-in but never got a response, so just a heads-up to plan meals ahead...

“Staff is very welcoming; we got a snack upon check-in. We went with the dinner option by the riverside as it was hyped up by youtubers, but we found that the price is not worth the price tag. We paid around $260 for 2 people for dinner. The food could be a lot better to justify the price tag. The room is a bit old. Other than those two points, the environment is nice and room is very clean and comfortable.”
