Lovely stay in Barbados
Alan and Sonia are wonderful hosts. They were helpful with providing instructions and helpful tips about the local area. There place is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of being in the city. Beautiful beaches and good surf spots are nearby, within a short drive. We loved Barbados and will definitely be back!

Wonderful Hosts
Beautiful secluded hideaway, Alan and Sonja were wonderful and helpful. We would recommend their car rental to explore the island, pick up and drop off to airport and reasonable prices. Clean, safe, and close driving to all amenities, don't forget their rental car!

Perfect base to explore
A big thank you to Alan and Sonia for hosting us. The communication from them was great. They gave us some great advice in relation to restaurants, shops and beaches. A lovely peaceful location away from the hussle and bussle. Near to Long beach great for morning exercise. Loved our stay - thanks for having us.

Cheez don bread vacation
Alan and Sonia were wonderful hosts and very accommodating. A beautiful apartment, clean and well maintained. The main queen bed is in the living area and there is a separate bedroom with a double bed. There are two bathrooms, one has a shower but no sink and the other has a sink but no shower. Kitchen facilities are excellent and were well used. The outside area is beautiful, very relaxing to sit with a cold drink and chat with Jack, the parrot. Nice BBQ provided, and good outdoor lighting because it gets dark around 6:30 pm. There is a lovely beach a couple of minutes walk away, which is good for walking, not swimming. The sargassum comes and goes and there is no shade. You will require a car because it is a drive to pretty much anywhere. Not a problem during the day but I found driving at night difficult with narrow roads, invisible potholes, and headlights coming at you etc. Guess I am getting too old. Oistins is about a 15 minute drive with lots of dining options. Surfers Bay Beach Bar is about 10 minutes and is a fun spot for food, drinks and great views. Overall, we had a great vacation!

Fantastic hosts in a beautiful location
Alan, Sonia and their family are some of the nicest, down to earth and hardest working folks we’ve had the pleasure of meeting. No matter what our request, they always made the time to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. Their home is beautiful and the downstairs space provided privacy while being a very short walk through a picturesque path to an almost secluded sandy beach with turquoise water. We walked the neighbourhood and went to the beach daily while enjoying the local fish market and in Oistins which is a must see. We highly recommend staying with Alan and his wonderful family.

Beautiful secluded spot with wonderful hosts. If you don’t have a hire car, ditch the taxis and take a ride on the local #11 bus (nearest stop at the top of Sea View Road)- a minibus for locals and tourists, blaring music and hair raising speed! Nearby Surfers Beach bar is a Sunday night must. The beach near the property is not a swimming one, but beautiful walks to be had. We loved it and hope to return!

Perfect base - and lovely hosts
Perfect Barbados cottage for our family. A basically private beach is just over a sand dune and the airport is 8 minutes away. Super clean and seemingly recently updated cottage with comfortable beds and all things needed for a beach vacation supplied - sunscreen, beach chairs, towels, etc. The host and his family were incredibly welcoming. Even was able to get some surf lessons from Alan - he was amazing and so patient! Would go back in a heartbeat.

Picture perfect getaway
Everything about our stay at Cheeze Don Bread was outstanding. The apartment/guest house is cozy, well-appointed, 50 yards from what seems like your own private beach and hosted by an amazing couple in Alan and Sonz. They could not have been more helpful and responsive, answering dozens of questions prior to arrival (several of which were covid protocol related) but also tips on places to eat, surf etc. once we were on the island. Five stars doesn’t do it justice— we highly highly recommend it!

We had a the most wonderful stay in Barbados at Cheez Don Bread. Alan and Sonia were easy to communicate with and incredibly helpful. They provided excellent recommendations for everything from car and surfboard rentals, to excellent surfing or swimming beaches, restaurants, and grocery stores. The apartment was clean, well maintained, and a cheerful place to be. We spent a lot of time walking on the beach out front. We felt safe here and highly recommend this to a family or anyone else.

1st trip to Barbados. Great place, and owners.
Very nice home on the beach. The property owners are the best. Helped us with local activities and the surf lessons from Burke ( the property owners) school of surfing topped it off. The apartment is well furnished and very clean. Landscape was done very nice. We come from a beach community and very much enjoyed our time here with our kids. Beach’s are clean and locals are very nice. We are planning on returning.

Cheez Don Bread is outstanding!!!!!!!!
Allan and Sonia are terrific hosts and wonderful people! Communication with them was very easy and the description of their property was spot on, NO misrepresentation at all!!!!! The apartment was very clean and spacious. We definitely will be coming back and highly recommend this beautiful piece of paradise to anyone. Fantastic get away from it all hideaway on the south coast
Brilliant stay, lovely apartment, very well equipped and private, just off a gorgeous wild and empty beach for great morning walks. Alan and Sonia were lovely hosts- we indulged in a great surf lesson with Alan and had a memorable few hours dodging the turtles in nearby Freights Bay! Would thoroughly recommend a stay here as a counter to the busy hotels and beaches of the west coast - you need a car to get around but well worth it and a great base to explore from.

Fabulous trip to Barbados!
We had the privilege of staying at Cheez Don Bread in March of 2019. Alan and Sonia were incredible hosts: helped coordinate our rental car, gave us great tips on places to go, breaks to surf, and introduced us to some great friends of theirs, giving us a true “locals” experience! The unit is just a few minutes drive from the airport, making it a breeze to start relaxing within just a short time of landing! The beach outside of the apartment feels completely private. Inside, was superbly cleaned, a great layout, perfect for two people (and could sleep a couple more comfortably). We paid Alan to take us out a couple of days to show us different breaks, where to paddle out/in, and he really gave us a great tour of the island. If you’re headed to Barbados, I definitely recommend renting a car as the beaches across the island all offer something unique (and you’ll want to experience it all!). We are generally super private people on vacation, but Alan and Sonia are just so great, that we left the island feeling like we had made brand new friends. It was a great experience and I hope to see them again!

The best base to explore the island
Alan and Sonia were amazing hosts and are incredibly knowledgeable about the island. If Cheez Don Bread were a hotel suite - 5 stars would be under rating it. A cool secluded retreat, away from any noise, except the Ocean. An isolated beach on the doorstep (I.e you’ll pretty much have it to yourself) and only a few minutes drive to cafes, bars and supermarkets. We also highly recommend 1.11east in Speightstown for the ultimate in relaxing environments.

Quiet Getaway
My husband and I stayed at Cheez Don Bread and it was lovely! The location is tucked away in a secluded spot with the beach just a stone's throw away. The apartment was very nice with all the amenities you need. It is very clean, comfortable, spacious and very private. It is very close to everything including great restaurants beautiful beaches and St. Lawrence Gap. Alan and Sonia were very cordial and accommodating...giving us tips on restaurants and things to do in Barbados, etc. They have a little dog named Bear who is so cute, super friendly and mellow. We would definitely recommend Cheez Don Bread; it's a little bit of paradise!

Barbados made simple
We splited our trip in Barbados in 2 different locations. the first week in in the action of St Lawrence Gap and the second week in this superb, quite and secure appartment. Cheez Don Bread is well located as a point de départ to explore the Island by car and for the near by surf spots. We enjoyed our stay and recomand it to anyone that want to stay away from big resorts. It is good to know that all beaches in barbados are public an accessable to every one.

Lovely apartment, excellent hosts!
We really enjoyed our stay at Cheez Don Bread. The owners were very welcoming, provided great site-seeing advice, and even helped arrange a snorkeling/catamaran trip for us on short notice. The apartment was exceptionally clean, modern, and well-furnished with comfy beds. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there were beach towels and a cooler for us to use. The owners helped us to arrange a rental car, which was essential since the location is a bit off the beaten path.

Little slice of paradise!
My kite crazy husband I stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Alan and Sonia are very accommodating hosts, who provided great tips and guidance while also respecting our privacy. The apartment is clean and nicely decorated with thoughtful "extras" like beach towels, sunscreen/aloe vera, and a little cooler to take to the beach. The kitchen is well equipped and we had no problem cooking for ourselves; be sure to stop in at the Oistin's fish market for delicious and super fresh flying fish and mahi mahi (dolphin). Long Beach is gorgeous - and surprisingly quiet and underdeveloped. For the kiting crowd, it is possible to launch directly on Long Beach in front of the apartment (50 m away through the dunes). Kiting is fantastic but not for beginners when wind and waves are onshore. A couple of kite schools/hangouts are located a short drive away at Silver Sands beach. Surfer's Bay Beach Bar and Restaurant is a must do - good food, drinks, and amazing atmosphere! Cheez Don Bread is a great home base for a couple or young family; you'll need a car to fully appreciate all that the island has to offer. Just watch out for the potholes! the definition of "WELCOME"
we were in Barbados for a surf trip with our kids. Cheez Don Bread has been the best choice . Very quiet but also very close to everything : Restaurants, beaches, surf spots, night life... Alan and Sonia have been the greatest hosts we have ever had, here but not here!!! when we needed advices they were present otherwise we didn't even know they were home!!! The appartement is so well furnished we felt just like home!! The beach near the house is one of the most beautiful on the island (and there are many beautiful beaches on this island!!!) with no one!!!! pure paradise!!! we will comeback this year and we'll stay at Cheez Don bread!!!
