Not as advertised
We arrived after dark with our two young children. Peeling paint in multiple locations. Not as advertised. We took lots of pictures, which do not look like their advertised pictures on vrbo. Peeling paint in a historic home can be a lead-poisoning hazard, especially for children. We checked into a hotel that night. After two nights of being in the hotel and reviewing our pictures, they offered to move us to a different house, which was also managed by their company (Patriot Family Homes). However, that house also had reviews by previous guests that indicated it was not as advertised. And by that time, we were already unpacked and settled into the hotel with our kids. We requested a refund initially, when we knew we wouldn’t be staying there, but they initially refused any refund. After several days of communication, they offered approximately one quarter refund only if we signed a release that included an extensive non-disclosure agreement, which would have prevented us from leaving a negative review across a large number of platforms, and required us to leave the maximum number of stars and give a positive review. We cannot recommend Patriot Family Homes.
